Thinking of the position guide over here:

For each segment (for example WORLD, TECHNOLOGY), I’d like to remove the SETTINGS buttons, to not allow user so change they way they view this.

Go to Extensions-> Module Manager -> JA News – Default Layout

Move on the Parameters Tab, there you can find a Display Settings

Look for Show User Setting Tool, there make click on the hide option and save the module
