Hi guys brand new to your templates.

I am getting the hang of it slowly but surely. I am creating a new website for my business foreveryoungfitness.co.uk. I am getting some joy but have struggled to find out to remove the ‘write comments’ bit at the end of passages can you point out to me how to do it in mambo or should I post a query to them?

    Thanks.

Although this is the first time you’ve heard from me I am sure it will not be the last!!

    Steve

P.S. I am using JA Antares

    Hello steve0651,

If I am not mistaken this is done in the “global configuration” in the Joomla backend. There should be a setting where you can choose if people should see author names and also if they can write comments. Unless you are using some additional commenting system?

I’ve had a good look and it does not seem to be there. What is really strange is there is a ‘comments’ tag in ‘components’ in the back room or Mambo where you can edit things but I must be doing something wrong as with all the sections highlighted and everything switched off I still can not remove them.

    Any other thoughts?

    Thanks

Hello. Which components have you installed? I am guessing there must be some sort of component for this? Akokomment perhaps?

I see you are using Mambo still? I haven’t used Mambo since the beginning of Joomla and doesn’t have much experience with Mambo. You really, really should move the site to Joomla. It is far better than Mambo. ( My personal meaning )

    Cheers

I am very new to this template thing and did not know I could use joomla instead. Thanks for the tip. I’m sure I’ll get it resovled. I really like the template idea and thanks for your advice.

    Steve
