March 17, 2010 at 4:03 pm #149597Hi all, I am hoping someone can help me with the following. I do not need the JA-News2 module and just want a standard Blog type layout but I do want to hold onto the rotating JA News Frontpage Module in order to show off the latest stories at the top of the page. So to be clear there are 2 things.
1. I can disable the JA-News2 module but then I cannot use the frontpage manager to get the standard blog layout on other templates??? How do I do this.
2. I want to hold onto the Ja News Frontpage module but this seems to show all articles that have been checked as “show on frontpage” which will obviously conflict with what I want to do in my first point.
I need help with this as I cannot switch off the news module in the first place and get a standard blog to work :(( Seems like joomlart have replaced the standard frontpage manager with this JA-News2 module???
I attached what I want to do to be clear

March 17, 2010 at 4:48 pm #336640Dear jamjodesign,
Joomlart has not replaced the standard frontpage manager, its the template override. Certainly i do not have the correct answer for you, however, you can try to check the /ja_teline_ii/html/com_content/ folder, it has the template (teline ii) overides for the Joomla!, to disable them you can rename the folder and see the effect, you can further try with removing or renaming individual template overrides files from the folder. This would auto activate the Joomla Default layouts.
Give it a shot and let us know, i will request JA Developer to find some answers for you.

March 18, 2010 at 2:13 am #336696Hi jamjodesign
I would like to answer your questions as follows:
+ Ja news frontpage module only displays articles which have the show on frontpage to Yes, it does not support for other articles.
+ If you enable the standard Blog type layout with articles on the frontpage, it will show again with our moduleFor the case, you should change the standard blog on the front page to other section or category.
Hope it helps.

March 18, 2010 at 8:38 am #336750This does help but does not solve my problem. If you turn off the JA-News2 you will see that the layout of JA-frontpage module gets messed up so please test this. What I am saying in my post is that JA-frontpage seems to not work without JA_news2 enabled which is not what I want. Can you fix JA Frontpage module to work with standard blog layout
