I am using the JA Mitius Quickstart package for Joomla 3.1.1 and will not be using Kunena for a forum (prefer EasyDiscuss).

How do I remove all the Kunena custom data installed with the Quickstart package?

I have not used any part of Kunena since the Quickstart installation.

I have deleted any Kunena menu/module/plugin items, but have not touched any of the database tables or any other files that may be related to Kunena.

Can you not simply uninstall/remove Kunena from within your site administration all together ??

Hi Tom, thank you for reply.

The JA Mitius Kunena Theme is a custom item in the Jomlart quickstart pacakge, but as it only works for Joomla 2.5 and I am in 3.1.1 no component is installed and auto uninstall is not available.

I went through the site admin to remove manually any menus/modules/plugins that I believed were part of Kunena and the Kunena data tables in the database are all that is left to go.

I don’t know what was in the custom Kunena item in the quickstart package and just wanted to make sure it was ok to remove the data tables and double check what modules/plugins would have been installed to make sure I removed everything.

It is not causing a problem with the site, the sample data tables are just taking up space.

In my experience – so long as you are only deleting those tables that were specifically relative to Kunena data – you should be fine. Otherwise – for all intents and purposes – even if you keep the tables there, they will forever be empty and taking up virtually no space at all.
