1) In accordance with this post suggestion, You can add in page class suffix functionality ::

http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/page-class-suffix-4/

and then, add page class suffix as forum for specific menu item

2) Then, You can try add this at end of template.css file::

.forum #ja-container .main-inner1{background:none;}

The page class suffix can be added in Page Class Suffix field seen in parameters (system) of specific menu item

Also, I would suggest you to please go through this doc which would help you to get nice idea of working with joomla ::
