March 17, 2011 at 3:12 am #161564I just installed the Ja_Portfolio quick install on my server. I would like to customize the name of the template so that it does not show up as ja_portfolio in the source code. Would anyone know how to change the template name once its already installed on the server?

Hi,
I don’t know what I understand as you said. Try this way:
– Open <joomla url>templatesja_portfoliotemplateDetails.xml file
– Find and replace
<name>JA_Portfolio</name>
If it doesn’t satisfy you, a snapshot with your comment help me understand you more clearly

I have the Ja_Portfolio template installed on Joomla 1.6. I wish to rename the template name, so that when users view the source code, they do not see the original name ja_portfolio in the code. For security purposes, I wish to change this. I have tried your method and it does not change the name of the template. Please advise.

Hi,
– Rename <joomla url>templatesja_portfolio to <joomla url>templatesja_abc
– Choose jos_template_styles table of your database by goto http://localhost/phpmyadmin/. Edit record that has template field is ja_portfolio. Replace template field to ja_abc
I tested and it works perfectly1 user says Thank You to khoand for this useful post
