Hi,
How would I go about swapping the search input box in the header for J2.5 smart search in Purity II?
Cheers

April 24, 2012 at 4:33 am #449885Hi david,
May I know which module in Purity is Smart Search? Is it a 3rd party module?April 24, 2012 at 10:38 am #449946It is a new component of J2.5, com_finder rather than com_search. It indexes content and offers matches as you type. It has several plugins for different content type and is extensible. For an example go to bsnz.org and click on Adv Search.
I was hoping to replace the search box on the header in Purity which uses com_search with it. Possibly with a button for the advanced filter options.
Thank you
David

April 25, 2012 at 2:59 am #450037Hi david,
You can do that as following:
First, you must enable Content – Smart Search plugin, and create a new module with type of Smart Search Module. (I named it ‘Smart Search’ module)
Then in backend settings of this module, you can make configuration as attached snapshot.
Hope this helps.

Hi Hien,
Thank you very much. For some reason the standard search module wasn’t showing in module manager until I filtered it on the search position.
All working now!
Thank you again
David
