    Hi,

    I’m looking to replace the menu icons with images. I tried doing it in the custom.css with

    .icon-example:before {
    content:url(../images/example.png);
    }

    But the problem here is that the image doesn’t scale with the size of the box (that’s defined in em so it scales nicely with the resolution). Any ideas besides having to create a font with those images myself, or if that’s the only solution, can you point me to some resources on where to start? Thanks in advance!

    Added the url and access to the op. I only changed the Featured Articles icon so far for experimenting, but I’m planning to change and expand to a lot of different logos on the left eventually. If you open the site on 1920×1080 it looks good, but as soon as you start shrinking / zooming in / out you’ll see the problem.

    Thanks a lot for the help in advance!

    Only vector image can be used. try this documentation to achieve this http://bit.ly/1uiRw54

    Yeah, I thought that was the case. The thing is that in the future I’d be looking at a theoretically infinite number of logos to use there which I’m planning to collect from the users, and I’m not sure whether I’d be up for recreating all images as vectors and include them in my font every time.

    I definitely see the advantages of the vector based images, but because of the sheer number of icons a workaround with plain images would be great. Since I don’t really see these logos scaling up to bigger than 150-200px anyway, there is not that much of an issue of bandwidth either — I see sharpness being an issue, but that’s something I can live with in the long run, again, due to the ever expanding number of icons which I’m collecting from the users there.

    Any ideas for a possible workaround maybe? Thanks again in advance!

    Here is the solution, you can upload the image in Menu itself.

    Please check the attached image how to do

    This is great, was already looking for a way to insert an <img> there inside the core joomla code… thanks a lot Chavan!
