    Hello there,

    I am seeing more than one hundred “Required but not found URLs (Http code 404)” errors a day in my Cpanel for the URL of /templates/ja_teline_iv/themes/blue-color/images/arrow-down.gif with referrer being http://joomalex.com/ru/blog-in-russian/entry/29-10-signs-of-bad-client.

    Funny enough, there is no /images/ folder in the /ja_teline_iv/themes/blue-color/. Is it a malformed URL being somehow created by my template or do I miss in the template the /images/ folder with the /arrow-down.gif?

    Besides this image, there are some other gifs, jpgs and pngs which also generate the “Required but not found URLs (Http code 404)” errors.

    Please advise,

    Regards,

    Alex

    Hello,

    You don’t miss folder images in ja_teline_ivthemesblue-color I have checked on our package and there’s no folder images for theme blue.

    You can use the image default replace for this image, in order to do this, please go to:
    <blockquote>ja_teline_ivthemesblue-colorcsscolor.css</blockquote>

    Find these lines:
    <blockquote>.ja-megamenu ul.level0 li.active .childcontent-inner {
    background-image: url(../images/arrow-down.gif);
    border-color: #069
    }</blockquote>

    change to:
    <blockquote>.ja-megamenu ul.level0 li.active .childcontent-inner {
    background-image: url(../../../images/arrow-down.gif);
    border-color: #069
    }</blockquote>

    <blockquote>Besides this image, there are some other gifs, jpgs and pngs which also generate the “Required but not found URLs (Http code 404)” errors. </blockquote>
    Can you show me? cause I have checked your site, and only see the 404 error of file themes/blue-color/images/arrow-down.gif

    Hi there,

    Going from ../images/ to ../../../images did the trick. Thank you very much.

    To the rest of the missing images, you will find them all in my Cpanel -> Awstats -> “HTTP Status Codes” (at the very bottom of the page) -> 404. I must admit that after some more investigation on those triggered by missing images 404s, I’ve realised that the system was looking for those images, for example, alex_02.gif, in /ru/images/alex_02.jpg, whereas the image resides in /images/alex_02.jpg.

    Imho, Joomla should handle /ru/ or any other language code in the URLs rather gracefully, but here we go. Mind you, I am planning to scale down my site to one language only, but still, would be nice to know, why Joomla was looking for those images in the wring path.

    It’s a bit off-topic as far as the missing arrow-down.gif is concerned, but there you have it. Thank you for asking.

    Cheers,

    Alex

    Hi Alex,

    I don’t know where to find this link: <blockquote>my Cpanel -> Awstats -> “HTTP Status Codes” (at the very bottom of the page) -> 404</blockquote>

    <blockquote>I am planning to scale down my site to one language only, but still, would be nice to know, why Joomla was looking for those images in the wring path.</blockquote>
    In multilingual site, Joomla still find the right path for images or CSS files. In your case, maybe the router was wrong, you can try to set SEF URL to ‘No’ in Global Setting to check about it

    I’ve escalated a ticket to send you my Cpanel and Joomla admin credentials. Apology if I created a wrong impression but please bear with me as I am still learning how to coordinate with your support in a best way.
