Sorry about that, I am sure it was simply an oversight as it wasn’t quite clear that you were asking a question, more of a statement. You are correct in thinking that currently it is not possible to mark threads as solved. There have been a number of changes to the forums of late including security releases from vB. As well as that the overall layout of the forum has changes with manuals being gradually moved etc. This has left some minor functionality of old missing but with all the efforts going into improving the user experience in other areas such as the new Q&A system this element may have been overlooked. Thanks for bringing it to our attention, Arvind has now rectified this.
