    Hi,

I got a few problems updating my JA university template.

    1. In my JAEM, it says "ja_university" has new version 1.0.6 & 1.0.7 to upgrade. But after I hit ‘upgrade’ from there, my site went down. The error message was "The file Cache Storage is not supported on this platform." Then I checked the version comparison log of versions 1.0.5 and 1.0.6, and found that there are some conflicted files. The conflicted files all have the same message "Response from Joomlart update service: File not Found!" I wonder if this is possibly caused by a missing ja_university zip file under public_html/jaextmanager_data/j16/template/ja_university/backup ?

I rollbacked to 1.0.5 and my site recovered. What can I do to fix this problem so that I can upgrade to 1.0.7?

    1. In my back end, Extensions — Update — it says " JA university T3 Template" has 1.1.5 version available for update; but in JAEM, when I check updates, it says "No new version found."
I have an active paid account at Joomlart and configured JAEM to Joomlart updates with my account details and set it to default.
I also tried installing the new version package file, but it says "error uploading this file to the server, unable to find installation package."
How can I update to this new version?

    Thanks a lot!

    Hi,

Below are some further explanation for JA University template:

    • We provide 2 versions of JA University:

JA University – JA T3v2 framework
JA University – T3 framework (new version)

The current version you’re using on your site is built with JAT3 v2 framework (this is old version) and another one called JA University T3 which is based on new T3 framework.

Basically, you can’t use both in the same site as it may cause the conflict so if you’re using JA University, pls disable JA University T3 template.

    • For the problem of upgrading JA University to new version 1.0.6 or 1.0.7. The above message "The file Cache Storage is not supported on this platform." indicates that there is issue with cache folder on your site, the cache folder is not writable. In order to fix this, you have to change the permissions and the ownership on that folder to make it writable by Joomla.

I checked the System Information via admin panel of your site and it’s true that this cache folder is not writable: http://prntscr.com/f0ilsm . The recommended permission for files/folders is: File-644 and Folder-755. If you don’t have permission to change these value, just contact your hosting provider for helps as it relates to server side.

    I hope this makes senses.

    Hi Saguaros,

Many thanks for your clear explanation and help. I disabled the JA University T3 template and successfully upgraded JA University to 1.0.7. But I got the following problems:

    1. I wonder what the difference between "disable" and "uninstall" is. If my site is using with JAT3v2 framework, can I just uninstall the JA University T3 framework to avoid future confusions?

    2. After I upgraded to 1.0.7, the favicon of my site changed to a Joomla logo. Then I checked the favicon.ico under public_html/templates/ja_university, it is my site’s logo not joomla’s. So why is it showing the joomla logo? How can I change back to mine?

    3. Joomla released a new 3.7 version and I just upgraded to that. Then error messages started showing up on my homepage. The error messages are showing only on homepage, other pages showing correctly.

I tried turning off Error Reporting in Global Setting in administrator, but no use. Then I contacted my hosting provider. They disabled the PHP warnings for the affected script. Now the error messages disappear but the errors seem to be a result of a template change. I wanna know if your side can help with the affected code?

    Thank you!

    Hi,

    1) If you’re using JAT3 v2 framework, pls disable T3 framework plugin, it will be ok.

    2) Joomla 3.7 was released yesterday, it’s better if you weird for template & extensions upgraded to support this latest version released first as it’s not tested yet with this 3.7 version.

    Regards
