Hello, I can not get the retweet plugin working properly in JASocial.
When clicking on the “tweet” button, a new “Share this on twitter” windows appear but I have the following message :
URL required
‘url’ parameter does not contain a valid URL.
RetryClose
In other words, the windows do not show a twitter login page.
Where do I customize the “url parameter” ? and how ?
thanks in advance

Have you added your Twitter User Name to the JA Retweet Plugin in the Joomla Admin area?

December 20, 2010 at 7:39 am #367692Hi,
Please check turn on SEF URLs on your site, and check your twitter user name for ja retweet plugin, if it is empty, please add your twitter username to it.

Hello Thuaniq,
I activated SEF and now it sounds like if it is getting better : Now the windaws is showing a message telling that “Twitter is over capacity.” … I’ll try later to check if everything is OK.
That said, Activating SEF raised a NEW issue : some links in the menus are not worknig any more… When clicking on them I do get an “error 404” message…. If I turn SEF off, menus are working propoerly… when Activating SEF, some menu items do not work propoerly (error 404…) Is there any specific action I should do when turning SEF mode On ?
thnaks

December 21, 2010 at 2:33 am #367850Hi,
Try enabling SEF URLS, your errors was because you are not using mod_rewrite, you are using joomla’s inbuilt SEF urls. you can see “/index.php/” in your URL.
So you will need to enable the .htaccess file, edit the rewrite_base to “/” and enable the 2nd option (&3rd option if you wan .html extensions) in the Global Configuration.

December 24, 2010 at 9:27 am #368461Thanks for your help, it does work properly now…
… Except the fact that when the twitter windows open, I do not get a login page, but a message teeling me that “twitter is over capacity”…. Which is strange because “retweeting” works from other web pages…
