June 12, 2008 at 6:04 pm #253303Off the top of my head, and Im not going back here reading the rest of this post so I may have missed something this…
In RSGALLERY CONFIG I changed the display picture width under image manipulation to 545. I did this because images in the slider if I remember correctly are width set to 545. I changed that RSGALLERY config setting so new pictures uploaded that are for display will be set at 545 width. THIS PREVENTS NEW UPLOADED PICTURES AFTER THE CHANGE TO LOOK DISTORTED ON MY SITE.
In the rsgallery slider module parameters my width is set to 545 and height to 300.
Making everything show a display of 545 is what made the distorted pictures go away. This only matters for the pictures that were uploaded after the changes. Pictures that were already uploaded needed to be reuploaded.
When I upload pictures I’ll usually have them at a custom with of 1280 or 720, and let theh resizing automatically occur. I dont resize images for the front, and then for the gallery. I one picture must work for everything. I dont have time for all this extra work. This website template has killed enough of my time.
Anyway, hope this helps.

June 12, 2008 at 7:07 pm #253306Thanks for your suggestion. I will try everything you posted and linked to tonight. I must say this is the most frustrating template EVER. They have not tested this at ALL!!!.
June 13, 2008 at 9:08 am #253396thanks itg172,
pretty sure I understand what you’re doing … but …. can you actually get a portrait image to resize so that the height of the image fits the height of the frame? … in this scenario the image you display would resize to around 165px wide by 300px high.Does this work for you?

June 13, 2008 at 1:57 pm #253432Cant say that this would work for me. I have not tried with portrait. I never take pictures in portrait because of formating. I have always taken the pictures landscape and mainly for use on the web. I drive my wife nuts when I see her rotate the camera. WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!?? lol…
June 16, 2008 at 12:54 pm #253892lol …. our friends at joomlart also use cameras that won’t tilt past 0 degrees…..
I’m going to join the RSGALLER2 forum and see if they will help me with this issue …… they seem to be more knowledgeable on the gallery since they were the developers in the first instance.
cheers don
