April 12, 2009 at 12:52 pm #301017I really like it.
It’s quiet like Iolite but it’s still very nice and has a HUGE array of genres it could be used with.
I do agree with what others are saying though about promising 3 templates in March and then not sticking to this. A surprise bonus release would have been much better received than a late bonus release. Hopefully JA learn from their mistakes.

April 12, 2009 at 11:44 pm #301053I suppose I’m left with the question if we will see a version of this template that more closely matches the preview image. The preview site looked great! The site that was released is just really “blah”. Will we see an update? Will I have to just customize it on my own? Or will I just not use it at all, and forget the idea of upgrading to a developer membership, which is what I would have to do if I wanted to use this template.

Final release is a million times better than the mess that was shown in the preview IMO.

I agree. I thought the subtle differences in the preview (hi-res version) was much nicer. This was the same case with Cooper. I think there was also allot of feedback for the hi-res version, but obviously a different version was selected for the final release. I also thought the inside pages would showcase more features and extensions, but that’s not the case. This one is just okay for me.

April 13, 2009 at 4:58 pm #301129Has the final release been uploaded yet or is the downloadable file still the “beta” download from a few days ago which are missing the updates for Joomla 1.5.10, the new official IE8 version and the .psd files?

April 13, 2009 at 6:14 pm #301143One area of this template I feel could do with improvement is the module classes. For instance, the content slider has the “NEW” tag in the corner. This appears to be part of the image for that hilite so everytime you use that hilite you have to have the badge unless you edit the graphic. (I have not downloaded the template so am not 100% sure this is the case”
Why not have the option in the module class suffixes to ad different badges in the corners.
so in Module suffix you could have “-hilite -badge1” etc where the second suffix adds of your badge of choice.
You could have badges such as New, Buy Now, Sign up etc. instantly expanding the module options.

April 13, 2009 at 7:08 pm #301148I’m a brit and I totally agree with Shannon. It’s unacceptable to charge people for something and then not give them what you promised. Not the way to run a business i’m sure you will agree Phill Luckhurst.
We paid for 2 brand new JA templates per month. I don’t give a flying fock about Magento – but that is clearly affecting the delivery of the JA templates.
The fact that Joomlart have also removed some of Shannon’s posts are criminal. I’m sure word will get around on Joomla forums about this. It’s a shame as Joomlart did have great potential.

April 13, 2009 at 7:13 pm #301149We did get 2 templates last month but I agree with the sentiment. . I do feel the designers do a great job but the PR side of the business is sadly lacking. I am just not very vocal and try to see both sides of an argument.
It also seems that Shannon is now banned for those comments which is something I am really not too pleased about (read as severely pissed off about). Shannon has been a great help to me and many other in the past and has undoubtedly eased the load on the JA team.
I hope JA reconsider their position regarding Shannon. A great asset has been lost.

April 13, 2009 at 7:20 pm #301150Constructive criticism makes great companies – as long as company listens to it’s customers and acts on the feedback.
There are so many unhappy posts on here that prove that Joomlart need to pull their fingers out and employ more designers. They are struggling to deliver on time.
Shannon is a huge loss if they have banned him. He should be reinstated immediately.

I agree, I’m a member of JoomlArt for the Joomla templates and could care less about Magento. However I do care that Magento has taken away from the Joomla theme release dates and overall quality of the Joomla templates. So now I pay the same money as I have for the past year only to get 50% of what I used to.

If Shannon has been suspended/banned he should be reinstated immediately.
On a side note, RocketTheme revamped their entire website and forums as well as opened a phpbb3 themes club without issue and more importantly without delaying any template release dates or the quality of templates they release.

ShannonN, you really need to get a grip. Has your life been altered in such a drastic way by the relatively minor delay in the releasing of this template? I’d be willing to put money down that it has not. You’re simply looking for a soapbox to stand and complain upon. Here’s a novel idea – how about APPRECIATING the offerings and quality that JA has to offer . . . quality and offering which, ironically, have kept you around for several years. Constantly complaining about trivial matters such as this serves no valuable purpose whatsoever – which would be a justifiable reason for deleting some of the unproductive comments you have previously offered.
PLEASE – take a deep breath, relax and enjoy the new JA Ruby. It’s an impressive and innovative offering.

April 13, 2009 at 8:04 pm #301155Does this guy work for Joomlart??
Joomlart have apologised for being nearly a week late in delivering JA Ruby. A week….. it’s 13 April here in the UK!

April 13, 2009 at 8:06 pm #301156I am so sick of those whiners who always bring up the likes of RocketTheme and/or what any other Template Club does or does not do. Obviously you appreciate the quality of the JA product enough to stick around.
Furthermore, there is no way that ANY of you has a use for each and every one of the templates released by JoomlART. You’re simply complaining because you didn’t get your eye candy exactly when you wanted it – despite the fact that Hung provided everyone with a preview WELL IN ADVANCE of releasing the actual template.
Teh ironic thing is, if things were a bit more rushed and the template had been released without having been fully tested and acceptable for final release to the Club, the lot of you would be whining and complaining about Hung’s lack of testing and/or care for quality. So it’s quite evident that those of you who consistently complain as you do about exacting release dates are the kind of people who are rarely satisfied no matter what – damned if they do, damned if they don’t.
You know what, NONE of your lives or livelihoods are negatively impacted by the minor delay in the release of this or any other template – so please, GET OVER YOURSELVES, enjoy the template(s) and get to creating.
