Well there is still the reason for this thread in the first place, why the ie9 code wont tell the site to be compatible and the is the issue with not being able to save new customer records or save the config file, but again this is only in ie9, hoping that eventually ie make a fix for these issues

I still have some other things I found like old xmap that need removing, but now you’ve told me how to do lose them I should manage 🙂

    Phil,
I am getting confused, do you mean the site won’t save the data or IE9 won’t save the data?

In IE9 if you go to the Global Config page you can not Press the Site ~ System ~ Server ~ Permissions buttons – nothing happens.

If you go to My Profile page you can not Press Save or Save & Close – nothing happens.

If you go to User manager and make any edits or new members you can not Press Save or Save & Close – nothing happens.

I only use 2 browsers IE9 and Firefox, this is a problem in IE9 and does not happen in Firefox

Then it seems to me when editing the site you just don’t use IE. Try Chrome.

Very odd though Phil. I have just tested on localhost with a c+ install and the Joomla buttons work on mine. On yours however they do not and I think there is some calender script being loaded that is causing the problems in the back end on your site.

chrome rocks, in that video, js, flash, works MUCH faster and smother then in any other browser I’ve tried… BUT.. it has issues with forms ( like on our forum ) and the toolbar really sucks!! I do use it but for limited things. But do give it a try. Will be interesting to see if safari, opera, chrome all have the same issue.

issues surrounding IE9 are NOT affected in Firefox Google Chrome or Apple Safari, All in fine in these browsers

I got to admit to getting really paranoid with everyone telling me it must be to do with way I moved from 1.5.23 to 1.7

Well Phil, everything happens for a reason and due to the odd move of the site, you have ended up with a much cleaner site and that will surely benefit the performance of the site as well as make the administration of the site easier.
So there are some blessings in all of this!
