For a while, I had the plain vanilla Joomla search module replaced with a commercial search module. As part of a massive effort to reduce the time my pages need to open from to under 1.5, I’ve put my site on a “diet” meaning I got rid of all extensions that are not mission critical, especially if they contain JavaScripts. After returning to the default Joomla search module, the module doesn’t look right, especially the magnifying glass icon. I need to know how to configure the module and/or template, so that it looks exactly like on your demo site for the template.

I no longer need this. I’ve upgraded to JA Teline V, which is a far better and faster template.
