Its possible search words even when they have special characters?

For example: Search “Jose” and have all the results even if they have special character like: “José”

This to simplify all the searches.

    Thanks in advance.

    This is my testing website

Do you know if need activate some option to do it?

    Provisional url: http://107.6.188.194/~global74/index.php/capacitacion/buscar-certificados

And i will post the release URL for the future (after June 2014 😉 ) to help anybody who had the same question.

You can try searching: “adaly” and the results will be null but if you search “adály” will have results.

I hope you can help me.
    Thanks.

My apology, I misunderstood your question.
JA K2 filter supports to search with UTF-8 characters, but it will return items that contain exactly given keyword, not for latin replaced characters.

    Oh it’s a shame :((

Do you know another search plugin for k2 who support that kind of searches? Like google does or even the default search of joomla. But i want to use it in the K2 Extra Fields.

    Thanks.

I’m not sure if there is another K2 filter extension that supports this feature. With the way that K2 builds database to store item’s extra fields data (data is encoded in json format), if you want to search in this case, it can be the cause of slow query since search engine must handle more cases for given keywords.

E.g: with “adaly” keyword, it can have many instances in different languages, such as “adály”, “ádaly”, etc …

I’ll report this issue to dev team for further consideration to see if it can be applied in upcoming versions.
