Hi.
When you do a search on my site and it displays the search results, if any of the results are one of the faqs, when you click on them it takes you to the home page rather than the /faqs page?
All my faqs are inside your accordian extension.
How can I make it so when you click on any result it takes you to the correct page or event question if it’s an faq?
Thanks.

March 14, 2015 at 5:42 am #563041Hi there
It’s all about Itemid. Your homepage using layout without component. And search result display link with itemId is home menu.
You can turn off SEF to get more detail about it.Thank you,

March 14, 2015 at 6:13 am #563044Hi there
You need to config search result use another itemid which one assigned for template with component layout.
Please check on forum and joomla forum to know about itemid.

Viet VuMarch 15, 2015 at 2:44 am #563094I’m really sorry but I don’t understand. I’ve checked the link and I don’t undertand what to do.
My search result page is already a menu item so unsure what else needs changing?
Thanks.

Please turn off SEF for checking.
Thank you,
Viet VuJune 3, 2015 at 3:36 am #572693I have the exact same issue, and for the record I don’t understand the instructions provided by support.
This has nothing to do with SEF modules, since I have none installed.
PLUS, the search function doesn’t work on the UBER Demo Module on the Joomlart.com site either. It also takes you back to the main page:

June 4, 2015 at 5:24 pm #572923Hi there
# Yes there is nothing need to work with SEF. But we need turn it off to check Itemid.
# Itemid used in Joomla! to determine which module / template will assign for an menu item id.By turn off SEF we ‘ll know which page we are landing on and config it as needed.
If you can’t work on it please provide your site backend & CPanel access for inspecting.
For next time please create your own topic with issue detail. Each topic should be owned by only one user even everything same.
Thank you,

Viet VuJune 11, 2015 at 1:40 pm #573728How do I send you the information to site backend and CPanel access securely / privately (will not post here)? I see the issue was fixed on the joomlart.com demo page.

June 11, 2015 at 5:09 pm #573743Hi there, I was having the same issue with search results taking me back to the home-page.
Here’s what you have to do (or what I did at least):
1) Create a new menu – I called this menu “hidden” don’t worry – this menu will not appear anywhere on your site – its just basically a place to store and assign template styles to items that you want to use – but that you dont want to appear in your main navigation.
2) In that new hidden menu, create a menu item of the type ” Search > SearchForm or Search Results”
3) Assign your desired Uber Template to that menu item that you created.
**Note: that the template layout you choose to assign here must have a ” Component” block included – that is to say – you cant use a template layout that uses modules only – or else your search results will still not be displayed!
4) Try it out, you should now be able to see your search results.
Hope this helps.

June 12, 2015 at 2:42 am #573759Hi there
Actually we should know it as root cause.
– For homepage (Itemid 1) we assigned template A with profile have no component
– In this homepage we have search module and it’s using same Itemid 1
– Than of course when searched return it’ll return with com_search and Itemid = 1 than# No component because using template profile without component
# Same assigned module for homepage because Itemid 1 used for homepageThat’s all about logic.
Thank you,
Viet Vu -
