    Hello All,

    I have a strange situation… look this…

All site it’s OK, inclusive word containing special characters, for exemple atenção

All is displayed correctly, on database is stored right too…

When i chech out the site with a spider simulator, strange characters appear instead çã

    Curious?

I faced a similar situation while I was using LDAP. Problem was with Corean Language. It was stored properly in LDAP but while reading it was giving some unexpected result. It was the issue with Encoding Format. Try with proper encoding format. It is definitely a encoding issue.

UTF-8 supports many languages, so until you are targeting a specific area or country, turn to UTF-8,

I have seen this problem before with spider simulators working on language sites other than english and I wouldn’t worry about it. the sites seem to get indexed ok and ranking appears unaffected…. Do not worry about it!!

Do not worry about spider simulation, spiders knows what your site is all about and also know to handle special charactersl.

I agree with misobelly, you shouldn’t worry about the result from your spider simulator. Google and any search engine will read those special characters correctly, as long you had those right on your meta.

Spider will take care of the encoding, don’t worry about it.

I would say also focus on much important aspects like building great content rich website and also try to get links from relevant authority websites. I hope it helps.

Don’t worry about it . The Special Characters can be Unicode (UTF-8) like ক খ গ ঘ । if you are targeting a specific country, then you may use this .
