i have do it following way below :
– Change permision of index.php file from 755 to 644.
– open .htaccess file and find following code section :


## Can be commented out if causes errors, see notes above.
Options +FollowSymLinks

So, what caused the problem with gaygiorgia’s installation, Hainn? I am interested to know what files were fixe.

I did a similar Joomla 1.5.6-Teline II QuickStart installation, it worked, but I have a problem with the Hot Topic.

As I stated above, I did not encounter the error reported by gaygiorgia.

Why is this necessary? Does it provide greater security or something? If it is not changed from 755 to 644. , the error is encountered?

ah ok, if i’ve understood well, it should be a “problem” that has been expected by joomla core developers.
so, it is a problem that “could happen” with certain server configurations. if server gives an error solution is to remove that specific command, right?

but, above all: if i control every index.php file, i see all of them configured to 755!
have you rechanged to its original 755?

Yes, really it not certainy , but for security i have changed it , you can change it again !

okok it is for security.
now i’m deleting entire venetoinfo.it/quickstart folder. as online test site i’ll mantain venetoinfo.it/1.5.6

only last question before i mark thread as “solved”.
which index.php file have u changed (i mean change permission to 755 to 644)?
i repeat: i checked all main index.php and they were setted to 755…

now i’m making the change to main online site. it seems to work good! thx.
the index.php file i’ve to change permission is perhaps the starting index.php?
that which is located in the main root (where we installa joomla)?

Yes ! I have change permission of it to “755”. I only change permission of index.php file in quickstart folder , not in root folder.
