I enabled SEO friendly URLs, enabled Apache mod-rewrite and also .htaccess accordingly.
Everything is working fine and I love the new understandable URLs all across the site including the store (VM)

How ever, when i click the add to cart button – there is an error that is caused by the xajax.php file
    which reads

Fatal error: Call to undefined method JDocumentRAW::addCustomTag() in /home/websitename.com/content/plugins/system/xajax.php on line 369
This appears on the VM Cart module which uses Ajax to update the cart.

Does anyone know what I could do for this?
It works perfectly if I disable SEO Friendly URLS on the Joomla configuration.

    Hi,

If you have checked virtuemart forum, SEO friend URLs doesn’t fully support latest version of virtuemart yet, if not mistaken, not even the previous version.

Try search the answer at virtuemart forum.

You can use tools like sh404 or ArtioSEF for this. They work with VM too.

As to the error, better double check the .htaccess (and try what is coming up when you deactivate the Ajax function in the VM admin). Do not use the standard SEF tools, use the mentioned ones. There are no issues to use VM with SEF on, but there are some modifications needed. The best is always to hire a pro to adjust those, as those can vary from site to site and modifications done by yourself. Afterwards, also the VM will work without problems with SEF on. Do not build on the stuff in the VM Forum, they have no idea themselves what is possible with VirtueMart.

This would be the best way, hire a pro!

wooohanetworks is right. try sh404 or artioSEF and follow instructions to change htacess.txt or .htacess. in terms of vm, the ‘add to cart’ error you’re getting reads familiar with ajax enabled bcs i had same issue with an earlier version of joomla & vm. if pain persists, disable the ajax function in your vm config. this shld resolve the issue.
