    HI all

I just uploaded my new template and am trying to short out the articles before uploading. One of the main reasons I went from 1.5 to 1.7 was that the links are short and search engine friendly.

I notices yesterday that when i hit glob the link appearing is this: http://www.atladasmedia.co.uk/index.php/blog

How is it possible to have the link shortened and look like this? : http://www.atladasmedia.co.uk/blog is there any way?

ps. I am very new to this so mind the noobie question :-S

Thank you for the advice I will try to download and isntall it tomorrow. Does this solve the issue? and is it compatible for 1.7?

I have 1 more quick question. The Robot Global Settings/Configuration I suppose it means Follow / Index yes? OR should I put it on Follow/Index option instead of Use Global?

    thank you in advance

    Hi,

You try changing your file htaccess.txt to .htaccess, if .htaccess exists already, back it up and make a new one, then go to Global configuration page and set:

    Search Engine Friendly URLs: Yes
    Use URL rewriting: Yes

I suppose it will work as you expected.
    Thanks

With the use of htaccess rewrite the url and also concentrate of canonical issue. Means your website should either open without www or www not on both.

    Hi
This issue have created to ask about linking issue. Please create your second thread w/ your new issue ( www & non www ).
Btw as far i can see you need redirect to www while entered w/o www ?
There are lots of tut w/ .htaccess to do that. For sample: http://www.stepforth.com/resources/web-marketing-knowledgebase/non-www-redirect/

    Thank you
