I have been trying to get my site listed on google and was advised to look at the SEO Settings in the Joomla global configuration.

I set all three options to “yes” (and made the necessary changes to .htaccess) and everything seems to be working well, except…

One of my pages no longer works and I get a HTTP 500 Internal Server Error.

The only page I am having this problem with is:

    http://www.alovelypint.com/offers.html

The homepage and all the other pages seem to be fine…

    http://www.alovelypint.com/

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Did you try cleaning the Joomla cache?? Is there any other SEF url component or plugin you are using along with your joomla site? Try cleaning your cache and let us know.

There isn’t anything in the cache. I just checked both “Site” and “Administrator”.

I am not using any other SEF plugins.

    Thanks for your time.

May be if you are comfortable, you can PM the backend login details, i would like to have a look and try to find the problem. But Remember i am NOT Joomlart Official Support Member.

If one works, all should work technically.

Most likely caused by a 3rd party component or mod you have published to the ‘offers’ page. Many 3rd party extensions are not compatible with SEF urls.

Thanks scotty, Checked that too, it just wont work, the offers page is section blog layout, with only one article in it. it works without sef. Tried adding the same article as uncategorized and gave a article layout link, it just wont mend….

Any ‘&’s or other chars in the title that might confuse SEF?

the title was “this week’s offers” i tried with changing it to “this week offer” and even just “offers” . No result.

the host is slow and .htaccess is default joomla but with additional line of top “SetEnv DEFAULT_PHP_VERSION 5” , owner says it is required otherwise the forums wont work with sef.

checked the php info from joomla backend its 5.2. something.

    anything i missed to check?

You got a joomla default link to the page?

There’s no restricted access level or anything for that page I presume?

    no, it’s public access

this is doing my head in tbf… i have renamed a section and category to “Beer Offers” and i get the same problem

the one I renamed was called “wallpaper” and it worked just fine!!!

maybe Joomla SEF doesn’t like the words “beer” and “offer” together…

Can you open the menu item ‘Beer Offers’ and post what it says in the ‘link’ box please?
