    Hi,

I can not update the JA News Featured Module and the JA News Pro! Module. I tried it with the Ja ext manager, but all I see is “Processing. Please wait…” nothing else happens. I also tried it via Joomla installer, but I get the error: Copy failed. What’s wrong? :(( Please help me!
    Regards

    Hi Olga,
Did you install the correct template version for the version of Joomla you are using?

    Hi Blaine,

first I had joomla 1.6.5 and the template Ja Teline III v2 for joomla 1.6. Now I updated my joomla to 1.7.1 and I thought that the Ja ext manager would update my template to the properly joomla version. Am I wrong?

    Hi Olga,

In order to be able to auto retrieve the upgrades for JA extensions you have to have a subscription for JAExt also!

Otherwise you can upload the modules that are included on your download ( ja teline III v2 package) and upload them to the local repository and upgrade them through the JA Ext Manager Component.

    Hi Manos,
why could I upgraded the JA News Sticker Module, JA Twitter Module and JA Bulletin without the subscription for JAExt?
I uploaded the two modules to the repository but after “upgrade now” I still see “Processing. Please wait…”. Thank you for help!

Well i am confused as i thought that auto upgrade JA modules needs a valid JAE subscription also.

Can you please check the file permissions on those modules ? Maybe that’s why JA Extension Manager can’t upgrade them.

    Hi,

all modules files have -rw-r–r– permissions and the directories drwxr-xr-x. The user has always write permissions, that must be enough?
I inspected the “Upgrade now” request, there is a 500 Internal Server Error: Copy failed. It seems to be a permissions problem, but where?
    Thanks

Well a 500 Internal Server Error indicates that there is something wrong with the server configuration so i guess you should try to contact with your host also ?

I really can’t see any reason why you can’t upgrade now.

    Hi,
I think I found the problem. The file:
    www/modules/mod_janewspro/profiles/telineiii.ini
    had false permissions: -r-xr-xr-x
    Thank you for help!
