I’m trying to follow the instructions on creating a landing page in ja_simpli. I’ve installed the template, made a copy called ‘Landing Page’, created a menu item (single article), typed ‘ja-simpli – [Landing Page]’ into the style box, all as instructed. But when I try to select an article, there’s nothing there.
Also, when I look at the front-end website, there’s nothing there, either–at all.
Further, Step 3 in the instructions–"Assign Content to Landing Page" is a complete mystery to me. I have no idea, at all, what is meant by "Content of landing page is loaded from modules".
This doesn’t tell me what to do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,

It’s hard to give the suggestion without seeing it closely. But you can try to follow two ways below

    • Follow the guide here

    • Download the quickstart package of JA Simpli template and install it with sample data. You can see all the configurations as our demo.

As I said, I did try to follow the instructions you refer to.

I get into trouble in Step 2 – Create menu item.

    Your screenshot shows

Menu item Type : Single Article
    Select Article : Landing page
    Link : index php?option=com_content&view=article&id=43
    Target Window : Parent
    Template Style : Simpli-[Landing page]

Somehow, it seems that you have created and selected an article. None appears in my Select menu.

So how did you do that? Have you left a step out? Was something supposed to be installed with the template that I didn’t get?

I can’t leave this page without selecting an article, and there is no article to select.

Just for something to do while I’m waiting for a reply, I’ve created a dummy article called Landing Page. I selected it in the Select Article dialog and moved on.

I know I’m going to have trouble with "Step 3- Assign content to the landing page". I simply don’t understand what it means to say ‘Content . . . is loaded from modules.’

@jim999: You can try to install quickstart JA Simpli template with sample data and compare the configuration between the quickstart and your website.

Or you can provide me the URL and admin login backend of your site and all module names are trying to work landing page via private reply. I will help you to check this.

I have installed the QuickStart package. I can see all different template styles. The images are available.

But I still find any article to select in Step 2, and I still don’t understand what is meant in Step 3 by "content is loaded from modules".

I thought that all the sample data was included in the QuickStart package; could it be that there’s some sample data that I haven’t installed?

I’m working on a local Linux server. I don’t have port-forwarding set up, so I can’t give you access right now. I can send screen shots if you like.

Thanks for your attention to this.

Hope my screenshot with step2(landing images) and step3(add modules) will help you to understand how to work with it

    1. Landing_front_end
    2. Landing_backend
    3. Landing_template_config

Thank you–those screen shots show just what we seen in the tutorial. I note especially in the second screen shot that the pick box beside the "Select Article" label contains the title of an article: "Landing page", and the link under it ends in " . . . content&view=article&id=43".

At this point in the process, my screen looks like screenshot_1, attached. When I hit the ‘Select’ butt, I get screenshot_2. In short, there is no article to select.

How do I deal with that?

In this case, you need to create a new article Landing page as my screenshot
