I have looked through all of these threads and I can not find anything to tell me how about how the flow list works from the : Contents or Folder option

How do I set the content?
or Folder if I wanted to do that?

And once I choose the category : I see the number there the category section ID – where is this? So I can choose what category number?

:-[ I am new and need some help. LOVE the design though! Thank you for it!

    – basically I do not have any images at all in my flowlist.

If you set it to “Contents” it will rotate images which are linked to articles by either section or category. Clicking on an image that is at the “front” of the slideshow will navigate you to the linked article. To make that work, you have to put the section or category ID number for the linked articles into the field below the section/category radio buttons. In each of the articles, you place an image at the top. Then the images displayed in JA Flowlist will be those images which appear at the top of each of the articles in that particular section or category. The title of the relevant article will appear beneath each image, so I would suggest keeping your article titles short. Clicking on an image will take you to the article in which that image appears at the top.

You get the section or category ID number by looking at the Section Manager or Category Manager (found under the “Content” pulldown menu). For this feature to work, you must have assigned the linked article to a section and category in the article editor. If you haven’t, then you’ll need to use the Section and Category managers to create the section and category under which you want to put the linked articles, if you haven’t already done so.

If you set it to the “Folder” option, you have to name the folder path in the “From folder” field. The root for this field is considered to be the “images” directory, and you have to place your images in a subdirectory of “images.” So, for instance, you might place your slideshow images in “stories”, or “stories/slideshow,” or something like that.

    I hope that helps..

    1. The most important thing is always to be aware that the module is set to /images/ by default.
    2. Adding the path /images/stories/slideshow for example would result in that no pictues are displayed also when those are correctly located in a folder like that.
    3. There are some threads already where exactly this problem occured and I also had this problem.

    • So again, never add the /images/ path before your folder path
    • Also when you have a new folder like /images/my_pictures/slideshow_pictures/

-> you must leave away the /images/ in the path and add only /my_pictures/slideshow_pictures/

(when you created such folder for your images)

—-> Where? Right in the path code field of the admin when choosing “display images”

! Always just the path of the folders inside /images/ already, always leave out /images/ in the module picture path !

Think this helps to avoid the common funbreakers!
