When people copy and paste the URL from our site to Facebook it looks like this with the site description always showing instead article text. How do we fix this? Thanks in advance!

    Hi,

Facebook may cache the old info from your site, try to put url you want to post into FB > hit the ‘Debug’ button and post to FB once again.

Where do I find the ‘Debug’ button?

Also not sure if this is a Joomla issue or Joomlart but just wanted to say that isn’t the best solution to this issue because when people share from the site they won’t (nor shouldn’t) have to do this. Other websites work just fine copying a link and pasting to FB.

Ok, I sent you the details. If you click on our site at the bottom, you can click on the Facebook link to see what Facebook does with it.

    Hi

Facebook gets the information from your page source of shared links. In priority, it will looks for the “<meta property=”og:description…” tag and extract the proper description and displays in FB.

At the moment, your site doesn’t have that tag so it will take the meta description of your site.

The solution here is that you can use one of the Open Graph Plugins for Joomla standard content and install in your site : http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/site-management/seo-a-metadata/open-graph
