I am using the JA Hawkstore template and I am having problems with the cart. I will add an item to the cart from my home page and then go to any other page and add another item – it most of the time adds fine. BUT if I then go back to the home page it says my cart is empty. Then i will try and add another item from the home page and everything will reappear. My site is live and I am sure this is causing many problems. I have created a ticket, but the response time is so slow and I do not have time to wait for this problem to be resolved. Please help!

    Hi Chanell,

I try to reproduce issue with steps you described but it seems to be working fine, I make a video here: http://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cIXIjRVPhK

Tell me more details in order to see this problem if I’m wrong.

Thank you so much for looking at this and I see that there was no problem in your video. Please look at the one I just took that shows the problem. I appreciate your help so very much!

    Hi Chanell,

This is really weird as I can’t reproduce the same error although I follow the same steps as video you sent, please have a look: http://screencast-o-matic.com/watch/cIXFnKV9he

Did you try to open in another browser / another PC to check this again?

    Hi,

I’m speculating, after looking at the video by chanell425 and testing his site out by myself, that it is a caching/refresh issue.

I see the same problem as described in the video. It is 100% reproducible by adding a product to cart, then simply pressing the back button in the browser.
The caching issue can be verified by doing a force refresh of the browser (press and hold CTRL and press F5 while on the webpage). After a force refresh the cart updates properly.

In fact, when testing this on the live site I built, combatskin.com, the same problem appears too.
Add a product to cart, then press back in the browser and the cart appears empty. Only a forced refresh in the browser solves it.

Edit: Also, when adding an item to cart, then pressing back and the product disappears from cart. THEN pressing forward in browser, the cart still appears empty. The only solution I have found is a force refresh of the site.

    All the best,

    Calavaro
