I’m having problems with the virtuemart shopping cart in the zeolite ii t3 framework template. When I add something to the cart, it disappears when I click “view cart” or another link. However, when I click back on the shop, it shows up in the cart count at the top – but, again, I click on the button and there are no items there.
What is going on? I have all my cache turned off, no SEF. I can’t think of anything else.

June 24, 2010 at 5:59 am #347913sounds odd, can you show us the site? Maybe looking at the code etc we can figure something out?
Blessings ShannonJune 25, 2010 at 12:25 am #348004URL is http://www.netizensolutions.com – go ahead and play around with the cart. Its very odd how it behaves.

June 25, 2010 at 12:52 am #348006Hi
I find no probs in Firefox cart populates with several items, calculates correctly, displays as it should the items in cart returns to home page fine with cart content intactHowever in IE 8 while it adds, shows cart contents correctly when you return to the home page using home button, IE ONLY throws this error
Webpage error details

I’m sorry I cannot help further today
Blessings ShannonJune 28, 2010 at 4:36 pm #348316I’m still having problems in all browsers. Its not when you add items to the cart that the problem arises, its when you delete items and then navigate around the site – these items just never seem to get deleted from the session properly and it causes all kinds of problems with the Virtuemart component.
June 28, 2010 at 4:49 pm #348317I think I have figured out what MAY be contributing to the problem.
Whenever I add and delete items from the cart on multiple occasions in the same session, then navigate around the site, I get conflicting totals in the cart. For example, when I delete an item from the cart, go shopping again, add more items and then return to the cart, that old item is sometimes still there.
HOWEVER, when I click on the “refresh” icon next to the item that was supposed to be deleted (and not supposed to be showing) the cart is recalculated and shows the correct totals. This doesn’t appear to work with the browser refresh button – ONLY the refresh icon which is supposed to update the item quantity in the cart.
This may be an AJAX issue with incomplete postbacks and poor cookie handling either in the template itself or the virtuemart component.
I’m thinking this is a template issue, unless anyone else reports it working 100% properly under arduously tested circumstances. If someone has a zeolite ii site working normally, please send me the URL so I can verify the problem I am having and see if I can duplicate it.
Thank you.
June 28, 2010 at 4:53 pm #348318As one more quick update – after all these problems, I still get another issue. When using the site heavily (adding/deleting items a lot) there becomes an issue with the cart adding new items at some point.
Now, since I have been testing it for a while, I can’t add new items to my cart. I get the “success” popup modal saying it has been added, but then when I go to the cart – it says its empty.

This zeolite II cart works fine in all browsers, not a lot of mods code wise isn’t live to the clients host yet but apart from a few more cart items to be uploaded is completed. You can remove items from the cart at the checkout sequence and the page refreshes and cart show item deducted as normal and the remaining items intact. and what did you do to resolve the tempurl error in IE?

June 30, 2010 at 10:51 pm #348571Thank you for the link. What setting do you have for cache and gzip?
I think the IE8 error is related to the js/html/image compression plugin I had installed. Disabling it appears to fix the IE8 error.
