Hi,

I would like to change the created date to the actual date rather than something like…1 week ago, tried to create a template override using the following: https://www.ostraining.com/blog/joomla/change-joomla-s-date-format/ but it does nit work.

Can you guide me to what needs to be changed to perform this functionality?

This is the right way to do it.

For article view date use override : DATE_FORMAT_LC2
for articles date in blog view use override: DATE_FORMAT_JS1
