I want to enable the creation of articles by users of the intranet, but, with minimal fields to login. This seems to be a standard Joomla feature:

So in Global Configuration -> Articles -> Tab Editing Lay out I hide all the options (see attachment 1)

As a normal author I log in at the frontend and create an article. I still see the tabs "Publication" "Language" and "Metadata". (See attachment 2)

How to switch these off for normal authors ?

yes, the options are from the core Joomla to add new articles and do not include all options to restrict each Tab.
You may post the issue on Joomla forum Here
So that you will get a better reply on it.
