Hello to All!
I am coping my post from joomlaworks community forum. I need help!
The system:
Joomla 1.7.3, K2 2.5.4, Simple Image Gallery Pro 2.5.6The problem:
In this article the image gallery behaves as i need(when you click on a image a pop up opens and so on) See link HERE
But in this article the gallery looks the same, but if you click on a image, it opens in new window!? See link HERE
Probably is something easy and common, but i still can not figure it out!
Any suggestions will be appreciated!
Thank you in advance!
Best Regards,
ScillaBizAll above was my post in joomlaworks community forum. They came up with this solution:
“Here is the problem -it caused because K2 and JA Comment uses different versions of jQuery.
K2 uses jQuery 1.6
JA Comment uses jQuery 1.4.3 Which is too old.
What you should do is either disable jQuery at JA Comment or ask the developers to upgrade it since it is too old.”I had JA COMMENT component, but i uninstalled. The problem persists.
Please help me.
Thank you !

February 21, 2012 at 8:51 pm #439357This is going to sound like sour grapes…but you actually need to disable the K2 jQuery.
K2 is set to load jQuery by default and tends to load it’s version of jQuery after our framework has already loaded our version. So head to your K2 administrator in the back-end and locate and change:
NEX already loads all you need.
Have fun!
John.-

February 22, 2012 at 6:38 am #439424Hello John,
I disabled the K2 jQuery.
Unfortunately, there is no improvement in SIG pro’s behavior and in addition all the Dropline menu disappeared. So,I had to reinstate K2’s jQuery.
There is one thing i can not understand: how come sig pro works on one part of the site and crashes on other?
If you have any other ideas, please let me know!
Thank you in advance!

February 22, 2012 at 12:22 pm #439450Scilla,
Thanks for checking and sorry that it didn’t work for you.
In order to proceed further, I’ll need a temporary admin/login to take a look at exactly what is going on.PM me, add to the private settings of this thread, or send us a ticket…and we’ll be glad to probe further.
John.

February 22, 2012 at 4:52 pm #439497Scilla,
While I await the access…
Also check this: the website appears to be throwing errors from Facebook and Twitter triggers.
Can you disable those two … one at a time, and then together … and report if this fixes your issue. Thanks,

February 23, 2012 at 6:00 pm #439705Okay…finally in the back end…and now can’t get into K2 to look. Please check your configuration.php file. Make sure it is writeable.
Goto: SITE > SYSTEM INFORMATION > DIRECTORY PERMISSIONS – make sure EVERYTHING is green!
Without being able to get into the K2 ITEMS everything is still a guess…but
To your issue, I’m noticing a distinct difference in URLs between the two pages
http://knnews.bg/index.php/2012-01-17-08-33-52/2012-01-17-10-11-00/item/… (the one that works)
http://knnews.bg/index.php/item/… (the one that doesn’t)It would appear the one that DOESN’T work is not attached to a menu item…which is a no-no actually.
Just guesses, I’m afraid, until we can get under the hood to look.
John.

February 23, 2012 at 8:07 pm #439722John,
I made the check – configuration.php is Unwritable. I changed it to writable…but wasn’t that a security problem ?
Regarding the links you mentioned – is there anything you want me to do?
I think i mentioned that the problem appears only for items belong to the category. Also..i made one item today in this particular category. The problem persist. Also made item in other category – there is no problem?!
About the access.. i think i gave you super admin rights – you should be able to see everything in the back-end?
Thanks!

February 23, 2012 at 9:17 pm #439734Still trying to nail down exactly what is going on…but there appears to be some sort of conflict when running a SINGLE IMAGE and IMAGE GALLERY in the same article. I didn’t want to delete the main image to test…for fear of not being able to get it back…to test out this theory. Or perhaps delete the GALLERY and call it directly from the content {gallery}gallery folder name {/gallery}.
Definitely a K2 issue though.
Let me know if any of this works for you.John.
February 24, 2012 at 8:57 am #439830Hello John,
I saw you disabled the jQuery from K2 parameters. I reinstated it. Otherwise Dropline menu, rating system and probably other things does not work.
I will try the things you said and will get back to you.
Thanks!

February 24, 2012 at 9:18 am #439832Hello again,
I did all you suggestions, but no use. Same.
With or without image and image gallery. With tags within the article…same.
Do not know what to do now.
