My site (http://aihara-usa.alchemy-network.co) seems to be displaying fine in Firefox but not in IE8. In IE8 it shows as the dark version of the template for some reason when it should display as the light version.

I’ve attached two files. One shows how the site looks in Firefox (firefox.png) in other words correctly and the other shows how it displays in Internet Explorer (internetexplorer.png) – incorrectly.

I don’t know if this makes a difference but I wasn’t sure how to change the style type (e.g. light-orange) after I had deleted the menu items in the template that allow you to do this so I just copied the menu command from another (test) site and changed the template style that way. Thanks for any tips.

Thanks. I take it that you were using Internet explorer to view the site? If not do you know where (in the config files) I can ensure that the template always uses the LIGHT-ORANGE style (for all browsers)?

Try clearing your cookies. It may be that you were using the cpanel and that stores cookies on you machine so you see the same desing next visit.

I changed the colour in the template manager to light-orange but it didn’t seem to do anything. I then noticed something at the bottom of the site was a desktop option which I clicked on (in Internet Explorer( and the site displayed properly. the ‘Desktop’ button then changes to ‘mobile’ but when I click on mobile it goes back to the dark version again. This is driving me crazy – I just want to have the light version and no buttons down at the bottom of the site. Can anyone help with this? Thanks in advance.

I see the site you show in your first image so it must be a local cache/cookie problem on your machine. Try clearing your cookies again then restart the browser with ctrl+f5 or clear your temporary internet files.

Cleared cookies and restarted browser etc but site is still dark unless I click on the button that says ‘Desktop version’ – why do I even have that option? I have attached a capture

It must be something on your browser that is making the site think you are on a mobile device. Sorry, I cannot help any further as I have tested in IE8 as have others and none of us are seeing the problem you are.

I went into template manager and changed al iphone and handheld settings to ‘Default’ – the site seems to be displaying ok now but I still have the ‘Mobile version’ button down at the bottom which I would rather not see.
