This is the third time that happens druing this week. I have a dedicated hosting server with dozen of domains and only in two of them i have installed Joomlart template. Now those two are the only one that can not be reached in the internet, neither with tracert ping, it says that name server can not be reached. All the other domains that have the same IP and are in the same server and registerer are working Fine.
Some one can tell wahts wrong? is something related with JOOMLArt?it is not the first time it happens
Please let me know

Ok what can we do to help if its a server issue and we have no url to actually test ping it?
I have a shared server with 8 domains and 7 have joomlart templates on them 6 use same ip, one does not, have two client sites on different servers and all work fine.
I’d say its a server issue? try the url with and without using the http:// and the www. in it sometimes certain servers insist on a full url others will accept a shorter version.
other than this generic info I have no more ideas than you do . Contact your host support, it maybe a firewall issue at their end or a security issue because of the ‘dedicated’ status, I’m sorry I can’t offer more help

May 25, 2007 at 9:17 pm #220854Read forum rules!!!!
Post URL’s or screenshots. Otherwise it is kind of pointless as ShannonN tries to explain. It’s like saying that something is wrong with my computer. Does anyone know what it can be?
We would love to try to help out but seriously, we need a lot more to go on than this. I am not angry or anything, just a bit tired of people wanting help but not providing any decent info. 😮
May 25, 2007 at 10:13 pm #220858Thanks Shannon for your amiability , sorry Erik for your fatigue.
Of course before posting i checked with hosting support , try the url with and without using the http:// and the http://www.,…and traceroute all the domains in the server. And only two of 8 where down, in fact, only the ones that have joomlart templates have the problem.
Now as it happens during last week after 4 hours the sites a running OK again, I dont have an expication of what happens but for sure is not as you say Erik that i have a problem with my computer, I am telling you just that i can browse all sites in the internet including all my customers sites and in the same server only the two that where down, were those where i insatalled the templates.
The reason of my question was just to know if there was some kind of conection between the sites that afiliates runs the template and some kind of securitie conection with joomlart, because it was strange for me that only those two sites in wich i was working on were down.
On more time thanks Shannon for your kidness and thanks Erik for your time too. I am not unhappy with club and the templates are great. It is just that some times thing are not clear .
Well hopping to bring some vibes to the forum, appreciate you being there

May 25, 2007 at 10:18 pm #220861Do you use any specific components/modules on those sites you have had problems with?
May 25, 2007 at 10:26 pm #220862I am not using any module or componet diferent from the Rochea template.
Also thinling it was my internet conection, i went to a cybercoffe with another provider and the error was the same with those 2 domains only, the error was server name not found.
Now the site is running fine at http://www.caracas.tv/index.php
But as i said and because i installed and uninstaled the template many times as i work on it my question was regarded to know if there is some conection between the templates and joomlart server, that all.
thanks

MWell you certainly have been thourough and just about exhausted all avenues available just as we would have suggested you try you have tried, this is certainly the first time I have heard of this happening, is you hst by any chance a windows based host rather than a linux ?
I don’t know f anyone running on a indows host but seem to remember you cannot chmod or something on wintel boxes maybe if its a windows host there are strange little differences between the two types of server

May 27, 2007 at 10:16 am #220923I have about 48 sites hosted on different platforms and with different solution providers. Some free services, some paid services. I have about 32 sites with Joomlart templates on these platforms but I don’t have a problem with any of them. So I am not sure if this in any way can be related to Joomlart templates.
Are you running the same version of Joomla on all sites? I am no server whiz so unfortunately I cannot tell what this can be and apologize for my rather rude comments. Just tired of people not researching anything before posting and then not including any info in their posts. Appereantly you have done your homework so my “blowing steam” was unfair. 😮

May 27, 2007 at 11:32 am #220929I seriously doubt that our templates are causing the issue, are you able to check the logs? Do all the templates use the same nameservers?
