I am having some serious issues with the site loading times for my website.
The settings for templates are:-
Optimize CSS: Join Minify & Compress
Optimize JS: Join Minify & Compress
Development Mode: No
Cache Mode: Enabled
The sites takes in excess of 25 seconds to load and on occasion when loaded the CSS stylesheet for menu flickers. For examples the BebasNeue font type switches on and off. I can’t quite understand why this happens, it seems like the CSS is still loading in the background

June 21, 2011 at 9:41 am #397597Hmm, a difficult one. Yslow gives your page a good rating of “C” but that only checks the loaded page. Something is really slowing down the initial load and that could be hard to track down.
It could be that something on your page is looking for an external feed of something and is awaiting a response from that before it continues. Try switching off any plugins, modules or components that may be doing that.
Also see if the same happens on one of the default Joomla templates. If yes then it points to a component or server problem. If no it could still be a component issue but one that is not being loaded by that particular template. Or it could be a server issue slowing down the template.
June 21, 2011 at 9:54 am #397606Hi Phil,
Thanks for the response – I will try your suggestions and give it a go. Meanwhile I will install a quickstart JA Methys on my server and test also.

June 21, 2011 at 10:43 am #397612How would that help?
Would it stop the flickering of the BebasNeue font?
Does that change then have a negative impact on site loading times?<em>@khoand 248600 wrote:</em><blockquote>Hi,

can anyone pick out anything glaringly obvious?

June 21, 2011 at 10:58 am #397618That just shows your site is taking just 2.9 seconds to load. Yslow suggests the same. The problem is coming from whatever is going on on your system before the page is getting a chance to load hence trying the things I have suggested above.
June 21, 2011 at 11:33 am #397623I’ve installed a quickstart package under test.dmvcomms.co.uk, I cant recreate the problem but do believe the server performance is satisfactory. Will look at components and plugins now.
June 28, 2011 at 12:47 pm #398849I am not getting much joy here and running out of things to test. Can anyone provide any further advice, guidance or support? The site is taking such an age to load?

June 28, 2011 at 12:57 pm #398852Did the test install form the quickstart load at the expected speed or did that also take 25 seconds to load?
June 28, 2011 at 2:56 pm #398888The test site loads quicker but when I do a pingdom test it shows circa 20 seconds to load. However the page does appear a lot quicker with navigation and content appearing fairly quick.

TanJune 30, 2011 at 1:59 pm #399351I seem to hit another problem and I am unsure whether they may be related.
The images show fine on the home pages and some other pages but certain pages the images are not showing.See http://www.dmvcomms.com/index.php/services-and-support.html
and as http://www.dmvcomms.com/ homepage.Phill ModeratorPhill

June 30, 2011 at 6:56 pm #399372I look at your site and on pages where there are no images showing it seems your links are incorrect. For instance I cannot view the following image – http://www.dmvcomms.com/index.php/images/stories/productcategory/calls.jpg
Does it exist and if it does are the permissions correct?
