January 14, 2011 at 2:37 pm #158753Evening Guys,
I have searched the forum and tried a few things to get my site to load faster http://www.vivaasiamagazine.com
The only thing on the forum that I cannot find is this http://wiki.joomlart.com/images/8/80/JA-T3-Admin_compression-settings.jpg can someone point me in the right direction so I can find this area and make sure my settings are the same. Many thanks Jim

January 15, 2011 at 4:26 am #371957Thanks Aman, found it straight away with your directions. BTW should the Enable Development Mode be set to yes or no?
Have made the changes and it now seems to take a second longer in Singapore now 19.8 secs to load first time and 40 seconds in Deli.
Any other ideas on how to speed things up. I have seen posts about disabling modules but I that would defeat the object of using this great template in teh first place.

1) Please ensure to have gzip page compression enabled in global configuration in admin
2) Also, Mainly, Check on the bandwidth being offered by your hosting provider as it can impact a lot on site speed 🙂
3) Avoid using 3rd party extensions which carry conflicting scripts. To troubleshoot this, You can disable extensions one by one
4) Check if the image you add to site are not of heavy file size. Also, You can optimize images using::

January 15, 2011 at 12:21 pm #371974Thanks again Aman. It has speeded it up by a couple of seconds. Will try optimizing all the images as I load new articles.
Aman any ideas on this post that I have put up a couple of times but have had no response on? http://www.joomlart.com/forums/topic/how-to-create-new-module-positions-2/
