    http://punksellsout.com/site-map-table-of-contents

I first used Joomap, then Xmap, and both came up with 404 error. I’ve used Xmap on other sites, no problem, install, create new menu item (the sitemap link), configure the sitemap s/w for correct menus. No idea why this isn’t working.

I’m working on another site using Vintage from Joomlashack. BOTH components work fine! Joomap and Xmap. Simple install, up and running.

    Answers greatly appreciated.

    Hello Jenny

I myself didn’t experience any problem using Xmap in combination with Jateline III.
So it is possible. No idea what your problem could be. Sorry.

    Micrantha.

    Hey there jennylens,

Pretty weird since this should be a simple thing, as you noted. Assuming you have the most recent version of Joomap installed, I would try remaking the menu item. Or uninstalling the Joomap component and reinstalling it and then remaking the menu item.

Try including all of the menus (if you’re excluding any).

A thought occurred that it might have something to do with your DNS for this domain and whether or not “www” is in your URL. SEF friendly URLs might be messing with the sitemap script. I noticed that in the sites where I use Joomap both URLs have the “www” in them on all pages.

You could try adding the following code to your to the bottom of your .htaccess file to add the “www” to your urls:

########## Begin - Rewrite rules to test Joomap component

#Redirect punksellsout.com to www.punksellsout.com to test joomap issue
    Options +FollowSymlinks
    RewriteEngine on
    rewritecond %{http_host} ^punksellsout.com [nc]
    rewriterule ^(.*)$ http://www.punksellsout.com/$1 [r=301,nc]

    ########## End Rewrite rules

    Good luck. Hope this helps…

    Best,
    railer

From my experience, this is also not the question of template. I have sitemap (http://www.cugp.com.us/sitemap) based on Xmap working OK.

IF ANYONE HAS EXPERIENCED THIS PROBLEM and came up with a fix, OR has a real technical background and can give some insight, PLEASE POST ideas or tips.

PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND BY telling me you have no problems! I already stated I’ve used a variety of sitemaps on OTHER themes, I’m using latest versions, not a DNS thing, I’m not a total newbie, been using Joomla for over two years with several themes from various vendors. STOP treating me like I’m an idiot.

I don’t want www. in urls. I don’t need it on other themes. Everything is hosted by the same company, same account, so one site should behave like another.

I am seriously considering pulling the site down and reinstalling. If that doesn’t work, I’ll ditch the theme. I’m not that happy with it, due to a variety of small issues, which I’m documenting. I am very disappointed, to say the least.

The WHOLE point of licensing themes is to plug and play.

Thanks and have a GREAT DAY. Happy New Year to everyone! here’s to more easier to use themes. I’ll drink to that, but first back to work!

    Namaste, jenny
