    Hello,

    I was working on a subfolder for a http://www.shadiercoffee.com . It was displaying inch perfect to me. I moved it to the livesite, i.e. http://www.shadiercoffee.com and now the site is all dead. This has got to do something with the htaccess file or with SH404SEF, reason being that even my backend is not accessible.

    I can login, but none of the menus are clickable. I do not understand what is happening as this is a first time problem for me.

    Can you please guide me for the same?

    Mihir.

    If you cannot access the back end, check your configuration.php file and make sure all of the settings are accurate for your new instance. It’s either that, or you’ve got a bad install…based on my experience of having the same thing happen. 🙂

    Hello,

    Thanks for the reply.

    I can access the administrator, and login. Though I cannot click on any of the links below.

    Secondly i dont think it is a bad install, because the site was working fine in a subfolder.

    Regards,
    Mihir Chhatre.

    Check your configuration.php like mentioned above.

    Also set the Live_site to:

    var $live_site = 'http://www.shadiercoffee.com/';

    Check your folder locations in the configuration:

    var $tmp_path =
    var $log_path =
    var $ftp_root =

    Hello All,

    Investigating the problem further I came across some other problem. Between, half the problem was fixed, can be taken a look at http://www.shadiercoffee.com

    While seeing and checking out all the JS were getting loaded i saw that the mootools.js was not loading fine, even after checking that the file has 755 permission.

    30 <ul>
    31 <li>Incorrect file/directory permissions: Below 644.
    32 <p>In order files to be read by the webserver, their permissions have to be equal or above 644. You can update file permissions with a FTP client or through cPanel’s File Manager.</p>
    33 </li>
    34 <li>Restrictive Apache directives inside .htaccess file.
    35 <p>There are two Apache directives which can cause this error – ‘Deny from’ and ‘Options -Indexes’. </p></li>
    36 </ul>
