Installed Teline IV Quickstart and had constant problems. Initially, the jos_alc_aro_sections table was missing a “Users” record causing problems, so no users could log in. Got that fixed by manually editing the SQL table.
Next, with the Quickstart, all of the modules had the page attribute set to None, so none were showing up. After turning them on, the site broke. By turning on one at a time, I found most broke the site. A few would work (login, banner, mainmenu, etc.) but most such as JA News, JA Tabs, etc break the site (error 500).
Also, I can’t upload images with the K2 component. I enter content item, set tags, etc, and then choose a file from my computer and hit save. It saves the item but crashes to a server error (500). When I go back to the items’ list, the story is there but no photo.
I’ve messed with permissions, databases, thousands of google searches, and nothing. I’m extremely frustrated since I’ve spent SO many hours just trying to get the site to work before even getting into really building my site. The server is a shared Ubuntu server, with the PHP5 and everything else appearing to be up-to-date and the proper PHP settings.
I’m not a Joomla newbie, in fact I’ve run a joomla-based site for the past 4 years including custom programming and writing my own CSS files. But this is driving me nuts.

January 10, 2011 at 8:41 pm #371198It may have been a corrupt download you have. Sometimes things do go wrong when downloading. It may be errors caused by the ftp app you use to upload all the files. Web base ftp apps are notoriously bad for this so I always recomment the free filezilla client for uploading.
I would suggest downloading again and re-uploading all the files using a good ftp app. Currently that will not be possible as it appears the downloads server has crashed.
To rule out your server how about doing a local install using Wamp or Xampp?
January 31, 2011 at 9:35 pm #374654I have the same problem when uploading Teline IV quickstart for 1.5 (with Filezilla). The images are all there. The images are also not shown in the administrator.
I can upload them again, but do I have to do the Install again?

January 31, 2011 at 10:49 pm #374662If the images are all there in the images folder then it could be one of 2 problems, a corrupt database or a permissions error on the images folder.
March 13, 2011 at 9:52 pm #381135Not sure what problem saw. Re-installed WITHOUT K2 and now it works. Permissions seemed right. May have been the way the server was configured to run apache and it was breaking K2. But it was something I couldn’t change. Thanks
