December 2008

For December 2008, we have decided to rap up the whole year of 2008 with extra prizes being given away for SOTM.

So, what’s in store you ask? Well, for the moment we’re keeping a lot of the prizes under raps, however let’s just say we’ll have MORE prizes, including some physical ones!

So, for December 2008 we have changed the schedule of our Site of the Month competition, as follows:

09 / 11 / 08 – Nominations START
30 / 11 / 08 – Nominations FINISH
02 / 12 / 08 – Votes START
20 / 12 / 08 – Votes FINISH
22 / 12 / 08 – Winner(s) Announced

customize to use PayPal pro using the API
custom cart layout to separate the credit card and pay with paypal option on check out
Artio Joom SEF ( by kanga)
My blog and Jomcomment integrated together and with the Akismet spam detection service
NiceTalk for questions and answers (removed email and website requirement for posts)
Xmap sitemap w/VM and MyBlog plugins
Custom VM integration directly into quickbooks 2008 ( no typing orders anymore)
Joomlpack for backup (automated cron job)
JoomSEO for dynamic meta and titles
(all metas and titles for static pages were customized in Artio Admin)
custom color scheme

As VM cart pages do not optimize well for the SE’s, static html pages were created for the most important products, (yes, i took care of the duplicate content issues)

fixed the VM ja theme SEO component issue with the wrong base URLS as posted previously.

created custom phone order module for VM as the order import to QB takes place on the site and not at paypal, phone orders are now input directly into VM backend, otherwise, any orders created on paypal virtual terminal would not be imported into QB and the client would still have to hand type them

This site looks after the farming community and since a vast amount of farmers do not have high-speed, you will find this site loads quick quickly.
