It’s basically Edenite out of the box.I am interested in which newsletter component that site is using.

July 4, 2008 at 2:12 am #257892It’s still very nice Tom. I like it a lot. Not like most messy sites. 🙂
And the newsletter component is Acajoom.

Well, it’s true, there isn’t much variation in the CSS or Menu-Style. But a good web site is much more than that.
I hope that the JA Members find that the ‘information architecture’ – the content structure, user experience / navigation and related use of side-modules as strong points for the site. If not though, I’m certainly open to any helpful criticism.

July 4, 2008 at 9:12 pm #258009I would like to nominate LA’s MPS Run[/url]
We finished this site yesterday and went live on July 4th. It’s basically Genista “Out of the Box” as well…but with a few tweaks. Tom, please visit all the pages before you hack me up like a hair ball. :p After all, it’s only our 4th Joomla!
I’m having trouble with two of the pages in Firefox (where Genista’s typography was heavily used). I’ll post about it the Genista section. Other than a few quirks, so far everything is going well.

July 7, 2008 at 7:33 pm #258409Hello i want to nominate my first site i created for a project that im doing.
I am making free websites for small charity projects who dont have the funds to buy one from a professional designer.
The websites are getting free hosting as a hosting company is being so kind to help me with this. Wich results that the small charity’s have 0$ costs to get this up and running.
Explanation about the site for the ppl that arent dutch:
This site is about a child that died of leukemia, while in the hospital she got a visit of a famous writer. After that she wanted to become a writer in the future, she started to write her own book but passed away when the book was half done. Her class mates from school have now finished the book and its now being sold for charity (to cure child cancer).Site had to be in her favorite colours: Pink, Orange and Blue.
And had to contain dolphins as they where her favorite animals.Nomination : http://www.dubbelgevoel.nl

Hardly “out-of-the-box” . . . you’ve done some good customization work on your site.
Colors, layout, backgrounds, images – all showing thought as to the theme of YOUR site.Good Job !!

Coming along nicely …. but you might want to check your site in IE6 – it’s displaying a bit skewed.
Also, while I understand what you are trying to do with your logo, it’s a bit hard on the eyes at tle moment. Not enough contrast between the white logo and the background “double.” Perhaps experiement a bit with some outlining or deeper shadow effects (just some suggestions).
Otherwise – coming along nicely.

Hmmm in IE6 the side menu seems to be wrong :(( will take a look at that.
About the logo, i understand what you’r saying but wont be able to change it much as it is like this on the book, but will experiment with it a bit.
Thx!
