    sorry for my opinion, stlucysgolf.org is unlikely. The big logo have much space of the site, no content can be seen on the wide-screen, with 800×600 resolution.

    Looks funny, a Vietnam site, that pretty much looks like mine nominated is No 1, while mine gets no votes 🙂
    And http://www.stlucysgolf.org/ is far ahead on front of the others to be honest and gets zero votes 🙂

    Doesn’t look like corruption 😛

    Honestly, I suppose there is nothing against the rules.
    Just the whole JA stuff voted for the Viet site, just because it is Viet.

    Do you have statistical proof to back up such an assertion?

    Or is this just another one of your tired little gripe sessions?

    My vote went to the site that did the best customization. I think it may be a JA Teline II based on the features of the site, or it used some features of the original Teline, Teline II, and other modules, and then placed them in another template.

    The result is a site that we all must be aiming for, a site that is unique (customized) and not a simple revision of the contents of a Demo template.

    This has been what I have been advocating since I became a member — a more modular well thought basic template layout that each customer may modify using unique modules that Joomlart creates.

    Whoever did the site must have some skill in scripting because some of the key stuff I am requesting (never answered by Joomla staff or any Moderator) is implemented here — how to modify the site so that the features of the JA Frontpage and particularly the JA News (showing sections as submodules) as shown in the Home Page will be the layout for the Intro pages of each Section.

    Section Intro Page

    => JA Frontpage

    => JA News (for section)
    => => submodules would be the Categories

    I hope someone from the Staff addresses this, as Hung promised in the public forum.

    One thing that I asked also, that is not addressed as well in this site is how to solve jagged appearance of the submodules in the JA News. In this site, the height of the submodules in the JA News was fixed. This is nice when the default size as specified in CSS is observed, but when the user increases the text size, the fixed height will fail because the bottom text in each submodule will pile up at the submodule below it.

    I disagree Cornelio. If someone has bothered to go that far with a commercial template then why not just produce the template from scratch? The other thing I feel should be considered is the application of a template. Does it suit the subject, are the graphics neatly done and optimised – basically does it work as it should?

    The competition in some peoples eyes is based totally on how it looks, agreed it is difficult sometimes to assess a site when it is produced in a language that you don’t understand but that shouldnt stop anyone assessing its function.

    Maybe in future, when the nominations go up, they should have some sort of description in both English and the sites native language. If this isn’t available then it becomes difficult to assess the application of the template and it becomes more of a graphics contest.

    Because they understand that these templates are simply starting points which are to be used as a basis for customization/modification into their own unique website experience. These templates are/were never meant to be built-to-go/turnkey websites.

    It’s fine and dandy for those who simply choose to change a logo and some menu items to show their website to us and ask for comments . . . .but those who have put forth visible effort in working on their sites – which includes modification/’customization from the base template – are the ones worthy of recognition in a “Site of the Month” poll/competition.
