I go to ‘Global configuration’ and and click site offline, save an exit, yet site is remains visible to the public. JA Teline 1V is the template and I had Joomlart install the template for me. Is there something else I’m missing, in what should be a straight forward issue.

Try clearing your JAT3 cache – as well as your browser cache

Thanks for your reply, I have gone to Maintenance, clear the cache, purged the expired cache and cleaned out the browser cache, still no effect. The website is still on show to the public. My concern is that while I’m attempting top populate the website with our own graphics and information I already have 7 or more visitors on the site. I have no meta info on any pages including the home page. Don’t ask how they find you, but they do.

Might you be able to provide me with temporary site administration access – so that I can try to check things out?
You can send the info via private message.

    Hi Tom and thanks,
I’ve sent you the information to allow you entry to our site. Might I just add, that even though I had made some articles ‘Unpublished’, these articles are all still visible, as thought they are ‘Published’. I don’t know enough to say that these problems are linked, but if you are looking at the sight, perhaps you advise on this issue as well.

Again, thanks and I appreciate your efforts.
    Cheers Craig

    Craig:

I’ve roundtabled this issue with a couple of my fellow Support Team colleagues, and one of the first suggestions is that you should update your site (via your Extension Manager) to J2.5.4.

If, after doing this, this does not resolve the issue with your “site offline” function . . . the next step will be for you to provide me with FTP access to your template files – so I can take a look at some of your administration files.

Let me know if the update template effort works.

    Thanks Tom,
I’ve updated (via Extension Manager) to J2.5.4.. On completion it indicated that it was successful. However, I now have no top menus in the back end. I’d appreciate it, if you would have a look to see if I have a major problem.
    Cheers Craig.

    Tom,
I am getting desperate, at this stage, I can’t edit and save articles through the front, unless it’s just text. Do you think I should go back to Joomlart about the actual install. There must be something basically wrong, if you can’t even stop this site from going to the public. Now I have much bigger problems. I would appreciate your advice.

    Hello Craig,

I am trying to assist my colleague Tom here so please also update your ticket with your website link and your ftp details so i can work with your issue.

    Hi Pascm,
I have been contacted by Manos Paschalakis from your support team and have returned the email with my CPanel details. But the link to the ticket does not work. I am unable to bring the ticket up, the only thing that is working is this forum and return email.

The on/off button for the template doesn’t work. The ability to publish and unpublish articles doesn’t work. Stopping members of the public from registering doesn’t work, in fact many functions of this template are simply not working. I have 3 other templates from Joomlart for 3 other organizations and all are working well. But this template is proving to be an absolute horror. It’s been playing up from the original install and unworkable for some days now, and any help would be appreciated.

Perhaps a completed re-install would be the answer ?

    Cheers Craig

    Was this issue resolved?

    Hi Tom,
No, I upgraded as you suggested, but caused all manner of problems. Manos has assisted by restoring the back end menus, but the template is still not functioning. I can’t turn it off to the public, articles that are Unpublished still remain published to members of the public and a few other bits and pieces.

Not sure how to proceed, the template just doesn’t respond to the mentioned basic commands.

Wondering if I need a complete re-install of the template ?? Any suggestions. I’m not sure if I should continue working on this template, if I’m going to lose all the data, with a fresh install.

    Many thanks
    Craig

    Hi Craig,

If you change the template to default one the problem remains ? If so i can only assume one thing that there’s something wrong with your db that prevents joomla to run smoothly.

Please try that and reply back, thanks.

    Thanks Pascm,
I changed the template and the same problem occurred. I certainly don’t have the expertise to deal with issues associated with the database. I had Joomlart install the template and the latest version of Joomla for me. I’m just wondering if the technician from Joomlart that installed it, actually checked to see if basic template functions were working, before advising me that it was installed and ready to go. Because the problems I have been experiencing were happening right from day one. I think I have a technician from Joomlart installation looking into this problem now. You may be in a better position to check this.
    Cheers Craig
