Your site was slow to load first time – it took about 13 seconds before I saw anything, and then a further couple of seconds for the home page to load completely.

Maybe you need to remove some content from your pages to speed it up – do you really need those flowers on the bottom of the page – because they are bloody huge and adding a 421.74 kB (431866 bytes) to your page size! Will anyone even see it at the bottom of your page. Remove it I say!

Your header image of flowers is a further 80kb – when it could probably be optimised down to 30kb without losing much quality using photoshop.

So I would remove superfluous images, then optimise the remaining images, then look at how many visitors are on your site when it is running slow and have a look at your hosting package – what hosting package are you using? What resources do you get with that package – maybe you need to switch to a beefier hosting package too.

    Hello Smitheringale,

Thank you for your response. I take in consideration your comment. I deleted the ban on the bottom and lightened the header ban.

The site is slow again. It was fine when I install all the package. The host is good. I use it for others joomla sites.

I note in other post that that the problem exist with others person. I tried to resolved problem with other answer but anything resolve the problem.

I must resolve others problem on this site ( url rewriting, filter, lag on article…) perhaps while I was arranging these other problems, this will settle it. While waiting I am open to any proposal for resolve it.

Maybe pascm has a faster internet connection than me.

I’ve tried on Chrome and Firefox and the site is still loading sooo slowly. I also tried a speed test on this website http://www.vertain.com and it returned this message

The test timed out, as the page did not complete loading in 13 sec.

You should definitely be concerned about your server’s speed.

I checked your images from firefox web developer toolbar and it shows 127 images on your home page. Some of these are big – 4 of them were 400kb+ and a number were 60kb+. Your gl1, gl2, gl3, gl4, gl5, and gl6 images of pears, flowers and what appears to be peter pan etc. are huge.

There s definitely a problem here – and I think you should cut down on images and optimise your image sizes to improve it.

Oh, and those 6 bloody big images are all in your gallery at the bottom of the page. The gallery seems to be showing just 6 images repeated 4 times – if you actually used 24 big images I think I wouldn’t even be able to get your website to load at all in a reasonable timferame.

I saved your gl1 image to my desktop. It was of some fresh 3 white flowers and I was able to shrink the image down from 1.07MB to 39kb with photoshop using Save for Web and Devices as a JPEG at 50%.

Maybe you need to address your gallery at the bottom right of the page?

Thank you for the test, pascm 🙂

I change the images on the the gallery bottom (who was the default image of Teline III) for 6 light images. I’m a good student 🙂
The other little vignettes image have a reasonable size.

When I installed this template, everything run very well. I’m sarting the changement and then the site became slow.

    Open for proposal ! 🙂

Why you do not use the GZIP Page Compression in Global Configuration/Server Settings?

    Hello q1234321,

Absolutly !!! Inever use this option in any Joomla site. I discover a new option.

The site is more speed…but stay slow at the first open.

You must drasticly reduce number and dimensions of all pictures.
In addition all pictures must be optimized/reduced in size to quality seems to you sufficient.

For example http://www.brettevillelorgueilleuse.com/images/stories/intro/jsbo.jpg is a picture size 44.06 KB (45,121 bytes) in dimension 600px × 400px (scaled to 105px × 70px). Website must download this picture as size 44KB and scale down to dimension 105px × 70px. If you reduce dimension to 105px × 70px you automaticly reduce size to 3-4KB and after replacing old for new resized picture the loading speed will dramaticaly improve. This is what actualy you need!

When you complete the above, I recommend that you instal the “Joomla Plugin CssJsCompress can automatically optimize external resources like CSS and JavaScript, which can reduce both the size and number of requests made to your website.” available here http://www.joomlatags.org/joomla-plugin-css-javascript-aggregate-compression.html.

    All the best.

    may be ur host.

49,640 other sites hosted on your server.

the response time is over 150ms, which is high

Check ur site with another host.

Generally, ISP with the response time over 100ms is considered no good.

    All the best.

Where did you find that number? As far as i know it’s actualy very dificult to host that amount of sites on a server linux or Windows.

Average response time is 0.22s for first test and 0.26s for the 2nd.
When I save your site on hard-disk I got a .mht file of 2.6Mb!

For comparison with http://www.delpraga.com, site I administer, page size is considerably smaller (720Kb), but response time is 2-3 times higher. But due to lighter page size loading time is OK.

Thanks to all for tests and tried to resolve this problem.
Gray for me your site come very quick.

My host said in their part everything is ok and ask me for a php test with firephp. Too complicate for me… actually.

So sad, because my site is online. And I’m afraid to lost the Google reference.
