March 10, 2009 at 9:03 pm #138974Hello,
The site loads in Firefox and XP IE7 but not Vista IE-7. It’s also not very stable in Safari but that isn’t a great concern.
Any ideas to solve the Vista IE7 problem? Thanks for your help.

March 10, 2009 at 9:23 pm #295285Sometimes it loads sometimes it doesnt.
Try unpublishing all extra modules to see if that solves the problem (slideshow, youtube vids, tagscloud) If its gone after enable them again one by one till the problem is back, then you know if a module is causing it yes/no.
I also see that most pictures on your site are quite large in size, maybe your host gives a timeout because of the total size to load (wild guess). Can try with small pictures if above wont work.

This is a javascript problem with IE where javascript is trying to modify the page before it has finished loading. Determine which script is causing the problem and then move it to the bottom of the page OR adjust the script to run onpageload.
This usually fixes the problem but not always.
Bloody amazing that Micro$oft did not address this with IE8 as it;s a very common problem.

I believe that is on their todo list (or so I have been told by one of their devs). They will be sure to add a few more quirks to keep everyone on their toes.

Bennitos,
After posting this problem, I also noted it loads sometimes and then it doesn’t. Thanks for the input and assistance. As always, I value your time. I’ll try your suggestions.

Scotty,
I have developer status here but I’m not an IT person. I recognized the terms used but that’s about it. I’ll delve into what you’ve suggested and hope it makes sense soon, and works!
Thank you for taking the time to help me out. It’s really appreciated.
Kind regards,

Phill, let’s hope they get it right this time and take care of their “to do” list straightaway!
Cheers and thanks!
