October 28, 2011 at 5:37 pm #422195Hi
You must enable the ftp user to let take control of your site, after you have enabled it, you can change the chmod on your configuration.php to the old settings
I’ve tried to enable it on your back end but i cannot do

October 31, 2011 at 7:30 pm #422648I’ve enabled the FTP layer for you, but I had to temporarily put 777 on the configuration file to save the settings to the configuration.php file. Now it’s back to 755. If you run in to any permissions/ownership errors, please let me know.
EDIT: Actually, I disabled FTP again because it was giving me problems with other modules I am currently working on. Let me know when you are ready to start on this again and I will re-enable it.

November 21, 2011 at 4:37 pm #425737Hi tworld
I have created another menu item “beginners” type is link to an article “82” and you can see that the ja_slideshow module doesn’t appear on that page
In other words you must create item menu and add your content to that items

November 21, 2011 at 5:43 pm #425761No, that’s not the problem I am trying to fix. The problem that needs to be fixed is the Featured articles that appear on the home page. If you click on the featured articles, they also show the slideshow.
I am still not sure if this is happening because of SEF URLs or because of multi-language.

November 21, 2011 at 6:49 pm #425786Well, this is very weird. All the slideshow settings just completely disappeared, I am re-doing them right now…
EDIT: Ok, I just fixed it, I wonder why the settings disappeared like this. Anyway, I will have a look at what you said by the About Joomla menu structure.

November 21, 2011 at 7:28 pm #425795What is the position where Featured articles appear, is that content-main? The reason why I ask is to find out if the following solution would work:
– use a custom html module to display articles from Featured category
– show custom html module on home page (but I need to know the position to use)pavit Moderatorpavit

You are right is that the position
<blockquote>show custom html module on home page (but I need to know the position to use)</blockquote>
all positions are available except the content main that is for joomla default the psoition assigned from the menu item type
example your home page the menu item type is Featured articles so in the content main it will show all articles Featured
if you change the menu item type to another ( single article ) then your page in the content main will show the article choosen

November 21, 2011 at 8:57 pm #425805I created a Custom HTML module called Testing Featured, placed it on my Home page and then used a position of content-main. Nothing appeared on the home page. Then I switched the position to content. Have a look in the admin panel, you will see what I mean.
Also, if I switch the Home page menu type to Single Article, it will only show one article and it will keep showing the slide show for that article. So the same problem is still there.
There’s gotta be a way to configure it to NOT show the slideshow for Featured articles, no? I am surprised this is so complicated. I was not expecting it to be. :-[
EDIT: I also tried to use Vittorio’s suggestion. I created a new layout and removed the following line from it:
<block name="slideshow" type="modules" wrap-inner="2">slideshow</block>
I then created a new profile and added the new layout to it. After that, in the Page Assignments settings, I applied the new profile (without the slideshow) to All Page, but for the Home page I left it using the layout with the slideshow. When I reload the site, all the pages don’t have the slideshow, including the home page. 🙁
EDIT 2: Also, I think the reason why my custom HTML is not showing on the home page is because there is no content-main position defined. Can you please explain how I can add a new position to the Ores template? I tried to follow the instructions on this page, but it’s for Joomla 1.5 and the template structure seems slightly different for 1.7.
