April 2, 2010 at 7:49 pm #150083Hi all, as you can see on the slideshow, the content is pulled in from articles. I want to be able to turn off the article title but still have it read up in the navigation area. The reason for this is I want to pull in an image as my header on the article but I still want the text title on the right???? Which file do I edit to do this? :confused:
I have tried reducing the character size of the title to “0” but this removes it from both places.
I have also tried to simply choose the option “no title” in the article manager but this makes no difference to the slideshow. :((
Can someone please point me to the file to change in order to have no title of article on the left but have the title still read in on the right??? :((
Please find attached the areas I am referring too.
Thanks in advance.

April 2, 2010 at 8:05 pm #338942Or can anyone tell me how to simply slide in a large clickable png???? while still maintaining the text navigation on the right. Its just that this slideshow right now is not very easy to alter and tailor for specific tasks?

April 2, 2010 at 8:17 pm #338944Can’t give you the answer at the moment (would probably involve changes to the default template php in the specific module folder) but there is a work around which might help in the meantime – in the module manager, go to the stage setting and select show description when ‘mouse over image’.

April 2, 2010 at 8:24 pm #338945Thanks for the reply, but the work around you suggest does not help really as I want to basically display a nice image with a button on it as a slide – placing images in the article of the slide just seems to break the slideshow and means the image is thumbnailed on the right also in the nav which again I dont want. Its just so frustrating having everything replicated on the right and left I cant really do anything with it – hence I want to start to hack out the title and see where I can go from there on the left.

April 2, 2010 at 8:42 pm #338947How about stage setting select no description but leave in numbers for title and description, in navigation select no for show thumbnail?

April 2, 2010 at 8:51 pm #338948Not sure what you mean by leave in numbers and description while turning off description. I have set description to “no” and now nothing comes in from the article so how would I show an imaage in this article. When I include an image in any article that is brought into the slideshow there is a large black box around it and it ruins the whole slideshow – I think if you try including an image in your slideshow you will see what I mean .

April 3, 2010 at 3:06 pm #338972I have now solved this issue by creating my own css tags in template.css and building in images from there -works very well. Please ignore my above post as this issue is now solved.

April 5, 2010 at 6:56 pm #339203no problem lee, simply go to mod_jaslideshow2.css and find this css:
.maskDesc .ja-slide-desc {
And make sure to change the font-size to 0%
Thats it – then just add your own title and wording into the article area and do as you please.
Thanks
