installed quick start in MAMP PRO on my mac just to do initial dev off-line. First install worked fine. After a day switched off went back to continue and mega-menu drop down had stopped working, as had the slideshow on home. Cleared cache, re-installed (x2), stopped started servers, browsers and tried in firefox. No difference in behavior.
I saw a thread regarding completely clearing cache which was not perhaps done correctly thru admin screen:
“delete from /public/cache/html”, but couldn’t find the exact location (either not created on my system or I’m not looking correctly).
I have noticed that after about 15mins of buggering around suddenly a re-load get so the site behaving correctly!!!
Was hoping that this is some for of cache somewhere, but after stop/start of browser and server, behavior still the same.
Somewhere in the DB?
What is the cause / solution?
Any ideas???
Further – published then un-published “call now” – cleared cache – reloaded home – back to problem, slide show missing and menus don’t appear to function.
I know I’m no expert in this, but the aim of templates is to avoid re-inventing wheels and hopefully delving into the guts to de-big.
Maybe forced to go to something older and less buggy.

I had the same problem this morning!! And the problem was that I installed a module that needs to load jQuery javascript library and it set coflict with others librarys that Joomla! needs. If this is your case you need to install this plugin ( http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/core-enhancements/performance/jquery-scripts/7230 ).
