OK, can someone pelase explain this?
(see attached Images)How do then I know that my site’s visitors will not have this problem?
It is fine on my laptop but on my desktop, this is what I get a blank white space on half the menu. The slideshow works, you can even click on the right side inthree positions and the three seperate texts show up but what is missing?
Both IE8 and IE8 64-bit on one of the PCs and not working and on the other one they are, no other browsers checked, OS is Windows 7 Pro on both.

April 1, 2010 at 3:26 pm #338794it is a funny issue …
i have two PCs, a laptop and a desktop, both have Windows 7 Pro and both have IE8 and IE8 64bit.
on both the IEs on laptop, it is fine
on both the IEs on desktop, this is the problem.i say funny, becuase why would it not show half of the same slideshow? i mean that side doesn’t even have images inthe bakground but just text, right?
also checked silverlight, flash, shockwave, all plug-ins are up-to-date so i don’t know why a browser would just show white space there …
any other ideas?

April 9, 2010 at 2:32 pm #339755We’re still looking at this…but as you seem to be the only one who can see this…perhaps you try a couple of experiments for us.
1. Adjust z-index
In /ja_ores/modules/mod_jaslideshow2/assets/style.css LINE 165
Adjust the background images z-index value. Change the line in red below to one of the following:
z-index:-1
z-index:0
z-index:1
z-index:1000
z-index:9999See if you notice any change in the white box. As you are viewing on IE…you must make extra precautions to make sure your Temp files and Cache are cleared before each trial…or else you are likely to get false positives.
#ja-slideshow .ja-slide-thumbs-wrap {
background:none repeat scroll 0 0 #CCCCCC;
bottom:10px;
position:absolute;
right:10px;
z-index:100;
2. Remove Background Image
Goto ja_ores/templates/ja_ores/css/mod_jaslideshow2.css LINE 52
Temporarily remove the following line…save and see if there is any difference.
#ja-slideshow .ja-slide-thumbs-wrap {
background:url("../images/slide-thumb-bg.png") repeat-y scroll left top transparent;
}
Please report your findings!
Thanks!
