I’ve thought about that but changing “Main Item width” under JA Slideshow2 Module doesn’t seem to work. Am I changing the width at the wrong place?

Hi,

In quickstart there is only one instance of JA Slideshow so i don’t think so, try to clean cache manually by deleting files at /t3-assets and /cache

Regards

Hi Blaine,

Its not resolved and I don’t feel I’m getting sufficient support these days.
I’m hoping that the support team will try viewing their demo copy with an ipad and resolving the issue there. After which, they can give me the solution. So many days have past and no one has taken that initiative.

Darren,
I am sorry you don’t feel you are getting sufficient support.
I have just replied to your ticket and advised you in that reply that the ticket was being turned over to another moderator who has been helping you on the forum. His last reply to you, in the forum, was on August 25th and with the current holiday that we are having, it seems to me you are receiving timely support, especially since I do not see a reply from you to this moderator who specifically asks you to try to clean the cache. In fact, due to the lack of response from you here and on the ticket, I had thought the issue was resolved as we had had NO response from you.
As far as viewing the site in an iPad,we have done that and replied to you. However since the holidays have almost everyone off, except me and a few others obviously, we are also stuck waiting on the devs to be back in the office from the holiday.
On the ticket submitted, 2 of your 3 issues were resolved and done so very quickly, so I would ask that you be patient the next few days and wait, as we are having to do, for the devs to return.
Thanks!

First of all, let’s get this out of the way. You can’t view desktop versions of websites on an iPad with the Safari browser alone. Why? Well, Apple doesn’t want you to. Their browser defaults to the mobile version and there’s no way to turn this off. iChromy might work for you.
If you have Flash on the site, then your iPad will never be able to access your web site properly.
You may also need to consider setting up VPN on your site. Here is a link on doing that.
Our iPad-optimized view is app-like in its functionality, but pure goodness on the backend: it supports touch interactions, swiping, rotation, and many other features of the iPad. Maybe if that were enabled it would help.
As for your comment:

Generally, I think Ipad users prefer to view websites in desktop mode.

iPad users can implement this themselves on their iPad settings if they wish.
Please also see what Apple has to say on this matter, TRY their suggestions and then report back to us.
Thanks!

Hi Blaine,

The last support ticket I made was on 25 Aug and I did not get a response from the support staff till 2 Sep. That response was from you stating that it appears that all the issues have been resolved which wasn’t the case. I’m a little confused on whether it is the job of the support staff or the forum moderator to help me out with the problem right now.

What ever the case, the best way to do it is to try working on the joomlart demo copy on your end to see if you can solve the issue over there and provide the users with the solution.

With regards to the ticket I submitted, Viet Vu did a great job with helping me. However, he wasn’t the support staff initially assigned to the problem and it took over a week before he came forward to help. I’m glad he did anyway. Kudos to him!

I don’t mind waiting for a couple more days for the solution but please try to resolve it from your end and provide me with the solution. I have provided sufficient details regarding the problem and screen shots as well.

I was under the impression that I had to do some configurations for the layout settings in the back end to get this right. I’m pretty sure it has nothing to do with Safari and Apple.

“If you have Flash on the site, then your iPad will never be able to access your web site properly.”

I don’t use flash because it isn’t support by IOS.

“iPad users can implement this themselves on their iPad settings if they wish.”

Some users are not so IT savvy and may not noticed the drop down at the bottom right side of the page to get this done.

hi all,
I’m out of any licensed issue. But at my side on iPad2 i have tested a template mentioned, and yes. We have a little space left and right of slide.
I’ll try to show with dev team for checking and respond you when i have replied from theme.
Another issue with licensed and membership i’ll talk with our higher staffs for checking and confirm with you if possible.
( because arvind already posted ).
Thank you
Viet Vu

Thanks Viet Vu, I look forward to hearing from you regarding the “space” issue.

Regarding the license and membership, I don’t think its a problem posted by me. I don’t recall anything about it.

Darren, as you said:

Some users are not so IT savvy and may not noticed the drop down at the bottom right side of the page to get this done.

All I was doing was offering suggestions in case you didn’t know.
As far as the response you got from me on the ticket, I sent it because there had been no response from you in over 4 days so I was checking to see if that meant the ticket could be closed.
Instead of focusing on all this, let me just say I am glad Viet Vu is able to help you and bring resolve to your issues.
Best of luck Darren

Thanks for the replies Blaine. I appreciate the suggestions. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for a solution. Hopefully the development team will be able to come out with something. Cheers.

Hey man,
Take it easy 😀
Okies . There is my screenshot capture from my iPad 2: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=161806813901170&set=a.135015479913637.36165.100002155587121&type=1
I’ve gave this for dev team for checking. But … after this check & compare careful with demo site. We have 2 thing
#1: Not bug:
For easy for understand:
A screen with 980px for mainwrapper site. But for component page it’s 960 . So we have 20 free space. ( 10 left / 10 right ).
Slideshow if full width ( 980 ). So you will see a little free space left / right.
( number above just for sample )
Because on desktop we have large screen we don’t see this too much. But iPad we have smalless screen. So our eyes will be focus on it.
( please check screenshot in attachment )
#2: Bug
If we not accept above concept.
#3: Another bug.
A small line at left / right

Yes, thats what I see.

#1 I understand what you are trying to say. However, I think it’ll look better without the space to the left and right of the slide show. Is there a way to remove it?

#2 I’m not sure on what do you mean here.

#3 Yes, I see the small line on the left and right at the bottom of the slide show

#2: ya just kidding.
I mean if we accept concept #1 so this’s not bug. But it’ll be bug we if do not accept concept #1 😀

Yup i’ve talk w/ dev team. I’ll reply you when i get anything from them 🙂
Thank you

LOL! Well, it’s not a bug if you tell me that the design is as intended.

Yes, do let me know if they know of a way to make it look better on IPad. Its not a big problem. It’ll be great if its possible as a lot of people here (including my customers) use IPad.
